Trump raped children. So did Bill Clinton and a bunch of sleazeball monsters. It's time to say that out loud, repeatedly.

I think people want accountability for Bryce, and it's being expressed as a desire to bench him. That's not going to work, IMO. BUT...accountability matters to a team. If the QB, captain, and highest paid player isn't held accountable for screwups, then players will note that. It won't end well.

The level of financial misalignment is as bad as I’ve been warning, and you’re going to see headline after headline of stuff I’ve said in the newsletter for years. I say this with both pride and sadness because being right is going to be many layers of horrible.

Abdul El-Sayed on capitalism: “I’m capitalist who just knows about capitalism. I have a bad habit of reading, I’m so sorry.”
We’ve spoken about capitalism versus socialism.

Do you want to talk about capitalism? Let’s talk about capitalism. Are you recording? Capitalism is about leveraging the laws of supply and demand to efficiently allocate capital expenditure to maximize value. When capitalism works, it’s because you have free entry and exit into markets. So if you believe in capitalism, you have to believe in government regulation to protect markets. In fact, right now, we have exactly the opposite. You don’t have to be a socialist to believe that you should be taxing billionaires their wealth. In fact, if you are a capitalist, you should believe in that. So, I’m capitalist who just knows about capitalism. I have a bad habit of reading, I’m so sorry.

“I should have said something different because [reasons], but Will is still correct because [reasons].” — It is both amazing and horrifying watching people be completely incapable of admitting error. Like…what are you afraid of?

Lol if I read it correctly (I’m old and getting worse at tech), then you just got here, like, 22 days ago?!? Welcome! Please make sure you become familiar with Bsky lore, specifically “Alf hog pics.” And also please *continue* touching grass, it’s good advice for all of us.

If you want, I can catch you up on this nonsense. It’s only Day 2, he’s got another dozen posts on this that I think usually goes for 3-4 days before he gets off his bullshit. I don’t know for sure because I usually just mute him at Day 2-3.

I think you’re willfully missing the point. You realize that Will is wrong but, just like Will, you CANNOT accept that. “This situation is different” doesn’t matter if the EV is the same and you/Will insist that choosing the highest EV is *always* the right choice. Risk aversion can be rational.

You engage, you don’t gish gallop and block for convenience. You are not Will. I respect your humility, but IMO Will’s posting habits always leave a taste of deception (eg constant strawman arguing). I don’t trust him, even though he occasionally does good work.

“You have introduced variance/risk” EV is still the same, correct? So the right decision will factor in more than *just* the EV, correct? Ofc they’re not equivalent scenarios, that’s the point. They have the same EV, but they’re different. That’s why “the highest EV is correct” is flawed logic.

Lol “clearly means” ok buddy. I just quoted him and you want it to mean something other than what he said. Fantastic. Anyway- is risk aversion irrational? Generally, not in any specific situation? Yes or no? Will says no, as the quote shows. Is he right, in your opinion?

“The risk-averse answer is…irrational.” - Will Stancil It’s one of the major flaws in his argument, IMO. He believes (he’s repeatedly said) that picking the highest EV is the correct answer, and everyone is stupid and/or irrational for being risk averse.

Say you're a bush pilot flying food, clean water, and medicine to a remote town. One day, you decide you just don't feel like doing it. People in the town die because they didn't get meds in time. Are you responsible for those deaths? Bremmer says "obviously" no. I say obviously, undoubtedly, yes.

interesting to me that as the administration treats democratic-voting states like conquered or occupied territories, you don’t have pundits demanding the president respect “half the country”

To be fair, it is genuinely funny that a guy who didn’t count to 3 is calling everyone else stupid. I once commented on something that happened in Britain but thought it happened in the US, and I was rightly roasted for it. We all make mistakes, just take the L and don’t be a baby about it.

CORRECT. And this is why Will gets flamed a lot- because he’s an arrogant dick. Nowhere in the ~dozen posts he’s done in the last 48 hours acknowledges the context you just gave. Instead it’s “numbers don’t lie, rich people know this better than poor people.” He’s a trust fund dick.

True! Prideful stubbornness to protect your ego is an interest that you can vote on. TBH the right to vote gives you the right to vote however you want! That the Boomers generally *only* think about money as the determining factor is…telling. It explains why they still love Bill Clinton.
010
Think. It. Through. @cfaller96.bsky.social · 24/07/2026
Yes, that’s exactly his point. He literally said being risk averse is irrational. He literally thinks that calculating the EV and then picking the highest EV *is* the answer. But there are many rational reasons to be risk averse. I will *never* trust Will to, say, be a lifeguard or watch my pets.
