Let me add another to my earlier list: I am pro-democracy, pro-Rule Of Law, anti-genocide, and anti-deportation. I don’t have polls or stats, but I assume a lot of Americans share these values. No one in Washington represents us. No one.

These Are Your Voters

It's quite clear the Dems all got together, after the election, and decided they need to be as quiet about Trump's immigration actions as possible. But I don't think they get that these are you voters! Not people with green cards, who don't vote, but their spouses and their kids.

The internet tells me there are 13 million green card holders. Those families add up! I'm not saying it's fine to abuse people who only have normal visas - or anybody! - but people who imagined they were permanently settled now can't safely travel outside of the country without fear of being ripped from lives they thought were firmly established.

I know many people think, "oh they should just know to vote against the bad orange man party, no matter what secret signals the Dems are trying to send to Joe and Eileen Bailey," but why would they if Dems are up there barely distancing themselves from this stuff?

The “should Dems attend SOTU” has big “should Dems impeach Trump” vibes. People argue the political reality won’t change and the outcome won’t work in Dems favor, therefore don’t waste the time/oxygen on pointless protests. I disagree. The SOTU will be Nazis at the Garden. Dems should stay away.

Seriously, I don’t know what political “benefit” Dems might get from not attending SOTU, but I don’t care. Some things you just do because it’s the right thing, on a personal level, regardless of politics.

They’re called principles, and we don’t demonstrate them when it’s easy. It will be “hard” to boycott the nazi SOTU, but “that’s hard” just means this is a test of principles for Dems.

Are Dems willing to stand on a principle, and boycott a nazi rally? Or will they adhere to The Norms? Time will tell.
