Thanks again to @mrjamesob.bsky.social for highlighting Kemi Badenoch's banning of journalists she doesn't approve of, which very few other journalists in the country seem willing to mention for some reason inews.co.uk/opinion/bade...

The utter shamelessness of Kemi Badenoch boasting at Conservative party conference about 'defending press freedom' and berating Reform for banning critical journalists from their conference, just days after banning Byline Times journalists from her own

Adam is my friend, so I'm biased. But he's a darned sight better than the rest of them. Which presumably is why Badenoch fears him. Which is presumably why he's banned.

I've been a member of the lobby for well over a decade. Not a single one of my lobby colleagues has said a word about the Conservatives banning me from their conferences, without any explanation. Contrast with the US where even Fox News stood in solidarity when Trump banned news outlets he disliked

Kemi Badenoch's Conservatives Block Byline Times From Conference After Condemning Reform for Journalist Ban
The ban comes just weeks after the Conservative leader called Reform's barring of critical journalists from their conference an "authoritarian" attack on the free press

Trump uses his unpredictability is part of his abusive behaviour. Trump will be nice initially then turn when it suits his narrative.

I remember living in a housing association where people lived in properties for very low rent whilst the property owners were waiting to rebuild / renovate. My sister had a 1 bedroom flat in a mansion block in W1 for years.

Blatant lobbying, not for the sake of our country, but for the fossil fuel industry, in which almost all the ultrarich - including, in all likelihood, the proprietors of these newspapers - are heavily invested. These people are not and never will be your friends. www.carbonbrief.org/analysis-uk-...

The multimillionaire Nigel Farage rails against climate action, while gliding from one air-conditioned building to another. He knows that he and his ilk will suffer least. But he is prepared to sacrifice everyone else to the demands of his fossil-fuelled funders. So much for "the man of the people".

BBC's second top story at 6 o'clock was the Chancellor getting heckled by some shouty twat. Not even news. Let alone top news. Into the actual item, mentioned almost in passing, the fact gov't has frozen fuel duty. It is impossible to deny the bias. You have to REALLY not want to see it.

What a horrible, judgemental thread. Look at the way you are talking about people who don’t agree with you. What makes you so superior? I agree the current situation is untenable and that the myriad of mistakes and own goals from this Government has been more than disappointing.

That’s certainly not what I’m implying. He left parliament to in 2017 and was elected as Mayor. Surely that doesn’t take away from the promises he made to the voters in Manchester in 2024?

ces111.bsky.social @ces111.bsky.social · 26/01/2026
Absolutely. I don’t understand why no journalists are asking this. It feels like it doesn’t matter that he was democratically elected as Mayor in 2024. What about the people who voted for him in that role? Feels a bit insulting to discard the role so easily.
