She also helped my mother and locals keep their jobs by buying the old "Silver Dollar City" and keeping it running. It became Dollywood. I repeat: she was a special person.

Dolly Parton went and performed with my mother's high school band show, near where they both had grown up, in the distant past. All to help raise funds so the band could afford some new instruments for the students. She was a special person.
