The hunters haven't taken over all the back trails yet. The pack and I found a ground bee nest that had been ripped up by a bear and many giant inedible mushrooms today.

I went out on the state land to hunt mushrooms today. I ended up finding kittens.

We walked the mushroom trail today but found nothing edible. The trail is an old road made of logs and wood chips through the state land. It is host to a wide variety of fruiting bodies in the late summer and early fall.

Do any game coders want to team up for an Asteroids or Breakout-style game with my dice files? I have some experience with simplifying the models and creating new texture files for them in Blender. I don't know where to begin with the physics.

The nature preserve is recovering from our six week dry spell. The beaver pond was dry last week, but it has a couple of feet of water this week. The turtles were out and seemed to be in good spirits.

We walked the north end of the Winter Green trail in search of oyster mushrooms. Oysters are often bountiful in this area, but I think the early summer has been too dry. No shrooms, but it was a good long hike.

Every year I check this patch of State land for morels, and every year I come up empty. It's a good spot for oyster mushrooms and maitake though. It's also the only patch I have visited this season that's not swarming with ticks.
