Transport for London is considering a so-called "soup ban" exclusively on the Central Line. "We do not want to encourage this behaviour any longer," said a spokesperson for the Mayor. Currently, TfL customers are prohibited from drinking alcohol on the network.

Did you know this ingenious trick used by the London underground? Victorian engineers designed the tunnels to go deep into the earth's crust, so both gravitational potential energy and geothermal energy can be used to power the carriages. As a fun bonus, this makes the carriages unbearably warm!

In quantum mechanics, systems of particles can be described by a wave function with time evolution governed by the Schrödinger equation. Previously only observed for subatomic particles, this would make the train one of the largest objects to quantum tunnel.

Using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), archaeologists have found a system of tunnels, along with stone tablets recording a mass transportation system known as "Linea Centralis" spanning across the settlement of Londinium. This would make the Central Line the oldest line in the TfL network.
