Absolutely going to about the point here but even if you have zero interest in UFOs, folklore, the paranormal or just general high weirdness, this is an astonishing resource for graphic design inspiration god, I love zines...

Our third contributor spotlight is for the amazing @amadeus46.art, doing an illustration for Jam Kuradoberi!! amadeus46.art 🔥 Zine preorders open this Friday, August 21st 🔥

A graphic featuring an illustration of Jam Kuradoberi surrounded by flames, and text about Amadeus46. It reads:
Amadeus46art - Jam.
amadeus46.art + bsky: amadeus46.art

You've probably seen him before and thought "that's that Jam guy," Amadeus has been part of the competitive GG community for nearly 20 years, representing Jam players in bracket and in Midwestern Artist Alleys.

Favorite art supplies:
My iPad Pro and Clip Studio Paint

What does Guilty gear mean to you?
Guilty Gear inspired me to never give up and keep picking myself up any time I tripped and fell down. I've met lifelong friends through the scene, and got to marry the love of my life, Jam-Kiske, who I met on Dustloop Forums way back when. GG changed my life for the better and it's all thanks to Jam.

Our second contributor spotlight is for one of the two authors included in the zine, the marvelous @milkymosaic.bsky.social, with a piece featuring Fanny and Nekomata!! archiveofourown.org/users/milkymosaic 🔥 Zine preorders open this Friday, August 21st 🔥

A graphic including information about Milky Mosaic and an excerpt of one of their written works. Text about Milky reads:
Milky.mosaic - Fanny.
archiveofourown.org/users/milkymosaic
Part-time author, full-time monster appreciator. Xe keeps xir pen sharp with frequent experiments in format and style. Everything xe touches turns to hurt/comfort. Tragic monsters full of self-loathing, sopping wet freaks, and horrid women with grey morals are xir favorites.

Favorite art supplies:
TWSBI Diamond 580 "Iris" with 1.1 mm Italic stub, Pilot Metropolitan with Medium Italic stub, Birmingham Pen Co. inks

What does Guilty gear mean to you?
Grungy, sweaty, diverse weirdos getting a second chance at humanity (and sometimes gender).

The story excerpt by Milky reads:
Excerpt, "Knights in Black Velvet."
Thiollier looked up at the odd bush, which swayed subtly despite there being no wind so deep within the earth. It was only then that Moore noticed the childlike form hanging from its branches like leaden fruit. Thiollier had done it after all: he had found his goddess. And yet satisfaction eluded him. The slumbering deity had not comforted him, nor could she protect him. But Moore could.

“Thiollier,” he whispered, recognizing how perilously close to the edge of some unseen abyss he yet sat, “please. Do not seek ebony oblivion. Nor velvet sleep eternal. I understand, I am selfish to ask at the foot of your goddess. But please…stay awake with me. Stay with me…”

Favorite art supplies:

What does guilty gear mean to you?
It means that if you're crazy enough and dedicated to an idea enough, it'll get big eventually. Shout out to my man Daisuke Ishiwatari.

And just like that life is worth living again.

A close up image of a Steamdeck with a lilac colored case. The picture is zoomed in enough that only the main screen can be seen, the deck is also slanted to the right. On the screen is the title card for Kingdom Hearts 2.

The worst thing about being so balls deep in a series that you're like grundle deep into it is only ever seeing stuff about the surface level things over and over and you start to feel like an asshole because it's just not exciting anymore cuz you heard it so much

I finished printing the Thunderseal scabbard yesterday too. Gonna pad the inside with craft foam + supports to hold the pieces together (too thin for pegs) and then I'll line it with fabric to reduce the risk of it rubbing paint off Thunderseal

Unpainted white 3D prints of Ky's GG Strive Thunderseal sword and its scabbard. They're sitting on ugly red carpet next to each other.

A photo of the sword inside the scabbard. The scabbard covers the sword up to its crossguard.
