❌ Need EDA/ETA unlocked to play ❌ No matchmaking ❌ Lvl 900+ content w/ no reliable way to test builds at that level ❌ Same negative modifiers people hate from EDA/ETA ❌ 3 runs per week ❌ Reward pool is terrible How do you expect to test this kind of content with so many things working against it? 😕

My biggest frustration with tomorrow's #Warframe release of The Icebind is that the players have explained how many fundamental design issues this experimental content has, and the devs are still releasing it anyways. Which makes it all the more likely that the experiment will fail.
The promotional poster for Warframe's "The Icebind", a new endgame 6-man mission with higher levels and hard negative modifiers.

Liberals on Bluesky will ask other people to please lie down and accept their extermination for the "greater good" of defeating the fascists, and they genuinely think their "compromises" on these issues make them look so magnanimous. But all it really is...is Fascism Lite.
"Stop the Far Right" aka @antifascistandy.bsky.social claims in their bio that they are "proudly liberal progressive lgbt ally green democrat socialist multi culturist". This is just before they advocated for the cultural genocide of the Palestinian people (in the next image).Series of Bluesky posts as follows.

@georgemonblot.bsky.social says: "“Zionism is racism” is not a policy but a slogan. It compresses a complex history, going back millennia, and a very wide set of beliefs into one narrow meaning. The answer to genocide is not discrimination. We don't fight racism with racism. I’m gutted to see this motion adopted by the Green Party."

@julieonlife.bsky.social says: "You and me both. I don't quite know how to respond or what to do with my membership right now"

@antifascistandy.bsky.social says: "it is a very difficult one, i will not be drawn into antisemitism, at the same time the genocide in gaza is a crime against humanity. i wish they had made it clear this is about netanyahus imperialism."

@ianthe.online says: "Just replacing Netanyahu will not solve the problem. It's not just about him and being anti-zionist is not antisemitic"

@antifascistandy.bsky.social says: "we should give all palestinians the option of funded resettlement with quality paid for eduaction, employment and housing with a 2 yr transitional income of the avg national earnings in their chosen country in uk or usa or a european country of their choice as a possible compromise."

I cannot emphasize enough that the average MTG player is not a social media influencer cracking packs for clicks and profit, they're a regular person just looking for new stuff to play with, often via a round of Limited at their LGS. And none of these changes improve that experience.

And lest we forget, the new points system for DA/TA made it a smidge easier to clear the 25 point threshold to unlock Elite by choosing the right frame. ...then with the last hotfix, they reverted it, so now it's back to being obnoxious to unlock EDA/ETA again. 😕

You can't properly gauge interest for 6-man content when most of your players aren't even able to play it, and many others just won't bother with it at all because you've made it such a miserable experience.

❌ 6 person content with no matchmaking ❌ EDA/ETA is a mandatory unlock to even play ❌ Four digit enemy levels ❌ Uses the exact same negative mods that people already hate in EDA/ETA Why is DE locking Riven Splicers, one of the most requested Riven updates, behind this awful game mode?! #Warframe
A screenshot of The Icebind as shown off by Rebb Ford. The game mode appears to have negative mods for each player based on the ones from EDA/ETA and players vote on which ones to apply.

All I'm gonna say about recent news is everyone has the right to choose if they will continue to engage with people accused of heinous acts or not. But "forgiveness", "atonement", "second chances", etc? These are things that only the victim(s) can offer, and they are by no means required to do so.

Liberals are desperate to rehab the previous administration on this issue because if Biden had stood up to Netanyahu when it mattered, many thousands of Palestinians might still be alive. And if Harris had done so, she would've won the damn election. But they didn't, and they'll own it forever.

Can't help but notice that the "Gavin Newsom for president" fan club has been AWFULLY fucking quiet lately and I imagine it has something to do with Newsom going out of his way to step on every single possible rake on his way out the door of the governor's office in California.

The Icebind is already going to struggle with reduced participation due to the lack of matchmaking. So to add another requirement, and then to make it HARDER to complete mere days before release, will only further shrink the percent of the base that can even play it. I just don't get it. #Warframe

Today's #Warframe hotfix reverted the EDA/ETA point system, making it more obnoxious to unlock EDA/ETA. This would not matter except that, for some unknown reason, EDA/ETA must be unlocked to play The Icebind. And The Icebind is the only way to get riven splicers. And this is all a TERRIBLE idea.
From the Warframe forums:

• Reverted the Research Point changes introduced to Archimedea missions with the Iceblade of Narin.
     ◦ Using a Warframe that matches those in the Individual Parameters rewards 1 Research Point once more.
     ◦ Restored the Research Point reward track to provide the Legendary Reward at 34 Research Points, and Vosfor or Pix Chips at 37 Research Points.
     ◦ This change had a mixed reception with players, and we ultimately decided to revert it so players didn’t feel “forced” to match their Warframe due to the increased Research Points they offered.
     ◦ Note: the other changes to Archimedea missions introduced with Iceblade of Narin remain untouched. From the Warframe forums:

In order to prepare for its release, here’s a look at the pre-requisites to access The Icebind:

• Completed both the Angels of the Zariman and Whispers in the Walls quest
• Unlocked either Elite Temporal Archimedea or Elite Deep Archimedea
     ◦ You do not have to have completed an Elite Archimedea, you must have completed an Archimedea mission with enough Research Points to have unlocked the Elite versions of these missions.
     ◦ This means you will need to be Rank 5 in either the Cavia or Hex Syndicates.

Republicans always pull these stupid stunts: make a wild claim, maybe with an accompanying poster board, for clicks and views, then refuse to let anyone actually address the allegations they made or the "evidence" presented. That's how show trials typically work.

James Talarico can't be trusted to deliver "universal healthcare" or any progressive policy if he is already carving out exceptions for the rights of trans people. Once you make it clear you're willing to sacrifice SOME rights, you're just negotiating with the fascists over where the line falls.

Centrist Democrats have been insisting for weeks now that Talarico can't risk coming out in favor of trans rights because he's running in Texas. But Andy Beshear has completely destroyed that argument by coming out in favor of trans rights as the blue governor of an even redder state than Texas!

For all its flaws, The Last Jedi had a compelling core message that one's potential is not defined by history or lineage, but instead shaped by their actions. And the fans overreacted with such fervor that Disney is now afraid of making a mainline Star Wars film that isn't about the Skywalkers.

The consistent sales pitch of those who have fallen deep into AI psychosis is pointing to researchers who are burning tons of money using LLMs to perform tasks that we already have the technology for. I can think of no more apt comparison for what they're doing. Fish AI for the modern age!

Every single time someone on this website talks up AI "advancements", it ends with them showing us videos of AI doing something that we've already built the technology for. AI is "Call of Duty fish AI" but on a larger and far more expensive scale, and somehow people keep falling for it.
Post from @esqueer.net that reads:

"Researchers at Stanford loaded GPT-6 Astra into a humanoid robot. It explored its environment and built spatial context to navigate it to accomplish tasks.

These aren't just hallucinating chatbots anymore."A Roomba is an autonomous robotic vacuum cleaner made by the company iRobot, and was first introduced in September 2002. Roombas have a set of sensors which help them navigate the floor area of a home. These sensors can detect the presence of obstacles and steep drops (e.g., to avoid falling down stairs).

As of 2024, iRobot markets models of their fourth through tenth generation, while continuing to provide support and to sell accessories for their previous series. Various models of the Roomba have different features, including tangle-free brushes, separate sweep canisters, more powerful vacuums, mopping technology, obstacle avoidance, and performance maps displayed via smartphone apps. Newer models also have a camera, which works in conjunction with onboard mapping and navigation software to systematically cover all floor areas, move from room to room, avoid obstacles such as pet waste and charging cables, and find charging stations.

Actually, they talk almost entirely about the economy, immigration, min wage, and Paxton being shit. The phrase "same-sex" is only mentioned twice in passing, and there's ZERO talk about "transgender athletes". So Talarico and the Dems have been throwing trans people under the bus for nothing!

The full NYT interview is so dire. It's very clear that the only reason these 12 Trump voters consider themselves "swing" voters on Talarico/Paxton is because they hate Paxton. Most of them were quick to drift right back to the GOP the very moment that a "better" choice of candidate was offered.
When asked "Would you vote for John Cornyn over James Talarico is he were the Republican candidate in this race?", 7 of the 12 Trump voters raised their hand.

5 of them were Republicans (with only one not raising their hand) and the other 2 were Independents (half of the 4 present).

This seemingly implies that Cornyn would've swept up at least half of the "swing" voters and very likely won the election over Talarico, who is only leading by 2-6 points against a deeply hated candidate that all 12 of these people don't like.

Also, this seems to suggest that they will quietly be moving developers off of Marathon and back to Destiny. They're emphasizing that they don't want to be bound to a calendar schedule because they're not sure how much the reduced numbers are going to slow them down.
From the "Future of Marathon" post:

Earlier this month, we announced that we’re moving away from strict seasonal releases. That means setting the pace of future updates based on what we’re building, the size of the work, and what the team can responsibly support rather than allowing the calendar alone to determine when something ships.

The "Future of Marathon" post implies they're trying to recreate the Destiny "feel", which makes it clear that this was never about a "passion" for extraction shooters. The devs wanted to make Marathon, while studio execs wanted to chase a trend, and those interests conflicted.
From the "Future of Marathon" post:

Growing beyond Extraction

Marathon launched as a cutthroat, winner-takes-all PvEvP experience. We want to preserve that thrill for the players who enjoy it, while creating more ways for others to experience the world and find the level of challenge that works for them. From the "Future of Marathon" post:

Some players want a quick, lower-pressure run after work. Some want to spend an entire night with their crew. Others want to test a build, compete directly against other players, chase a difficult challenge, or follow a strange clue deeper into the ruins of Tau Ceti IV.

Marathon needs to support all of them.

As we build from Symbiosis toward March and beyond, we’re focused on three areas.
More ways to play

PvEvP will remain an important part of Marathon, but it will become one point in a connected set of survival experiences.

We’re building toward:

Connected PvE, PvP, and PvEvP experiences
Different levels of intensity and commitment
Options for solo players and crews
More approachable ways to enter and learn the game
Experiences built around cooperation, competition, and high-risk survival

More approachable entry points will help new and returning players understand Marathon’s systems and build confidence before taking on its highest-stakes challenges. At the same time, experienced players will have more opportunities to test their mastery and pursue deeper challenges.

Centrists demand that we accept anti-trans candidates in red and purple states because "we can't win otherwise". But Newsom won't defend trans people despite being governor of a blue state, and they want HIM to run for president. Because at the end of the day, centrists just hate trans people.

There is no way that Bungie can unvault the game AND eventually make new stuff for Destiny 2 AND keep working on an entire second game when they've laid off so much of the talent they needed to make it in the first place. Stop trusting executives just because they say what you want to hear.

Yeah, I don't buy that. The studio is significantly reduced in size and most of what's left is on Marathon. They would have to either hire people back on, or shift people from Marathon to work on Destiny. There is no universe in which they can just do a bunch of extra work with no sacrifices.

Bungie has over 300 LESS employees now than they did in June, and they would have to rebuild most of this vaulted content from scratch. I don't see how they can possibly live up to this promise AND keep expanding Marathon. Feels like more empty promises, and I have no trust left to give to Bungie.

These people want us to pretend that Democrats aren't actually throwing trans people under the bus, but within the span of an hour after I posted this, I met another person in a different thread who did THE SAME THING. Gaslighting at its finest.
Me: "If you think that a state should be ignored because "we can't win", you are implicitly saying that losing matters more to you than trying to fight for the people who could potentially suffer as a result.

Whereas I would much rather try to fight for everyone, and lose, than not try at all."

The Other Person: "No, the opposite. Winning matters to me greatly, and so I am employing a strategy: to prioritize other states that we have a shot to win. If Dems can win the other 49, they can enact veto-proof and very nationally popular policy to protect people nationwide. Wasting resources on losses gets nothing."

Me: "Your plan only works if the Democrats agree on this universally.

Yet several prominent Democratic candidates have come out against trans rights in this election cycle.

What is your plan to create "veto-proof" pro-trans legislation if several of your party's elected representatives are anti-trans?"

The Other Person: "I’m routinely asked to bite a considerable bullet and vote for candidates who explicitly stand against my beliefs as a Jew this cycle. I would ask you to do the same as I am told to do, and trust the process to get the net results we both want."
