Hello again, Bluesky. I've been lurking, but hesitant to post. I guess I've been kind of rendered speechless by, well, everything. No Kings gave me hope, but the demolition of the East Wing of the White House just gutted me. Can we pull back from the edge of the abyss?

Devastating news from the eagle's nest at the National Conservation Training Center whose Eagle Cam I mentioned in a post a few weeks ago. Tragically, the nest was destroyed in an unexpected storm last night, and its three little eaglets were killed. 💔 It's been quite a heartbreaking week. 😢

As an alum of the first class of AmeriCorps*NCCC, team leader and program manager of other AC programs, and former NHQ employee, I am absolutely gutted by this. This is an unfathomable loss to AmeriCorps members, the communities we've served, and to the entire nation. apnews.com/article/amer...

We have mice in our attic. And they appear eerily attuned to today's political environment...

I did need to hear this, too. My heart hurts knowing how things could have been...

How anyone can sit in those chambers and watch Cory Booker's reading of his stories and still support this travesty of an administration is beyond me. Have they no souls? It's clear they have no hearts. 😢

If you're looking for a diversion that is also a metaphor for the struggles our still fledgling country is facing, might I suggest an Eagle Cam? This nest is at the National Conservation Training Center near Shepherdstown, WV, with three newly hatched eaglets! 😃🦅 www.youtube.com/live/AndubnP...

I know I haven't posted much, or well, at all. I honestly don't know what to say. I am watching in horror as our country quickly devolves into a dystopian hellscape and it just feels surreal. It could have been so very different. 😢 So grateful for the safe haven of Bluesky. Thanks, guys...

This is from a friend's Facebook post. He'd been watching the goodbye emails from colleagues flowing through his HHS inbox. On Saturday morning. The shoe hasn't dropped for him yet, but that could change in an instant and with no warning. 😕

Even though I haven't posted much myself yet, I want you all to know how grateful I am to be sharing this journey with you and how much I appreciate your sharing your observations. Keep your hands and feet inside the car, kiddos. We're in for a wild ride, beginning in just a handful of days...

I see so many of my new friends are GSD humans! This is Charlie, our 14-month-old goofball/terror. 😂❤️

I'm loving all the cats, dogs, rabbits, etc. Are there any horsey folk here? Cooper says hi!

Newbie here. I didn't post a single thing at the Other Place - mainly because I felt unsafe from all the vitriol after, well, you know when. But it feels different here. Safer; like I can breathe. I've followed my go-tos from before. Maybe I'll find my voice here, too. Thank you all for that!
