Is that what happened at the end of Hard Boiled yeah

Screenshot of Google Gemini summary reads • The Climax: At the end of the film's legendary hospital shootout, Tony Leung's character tragically sacrifices himself to complete the mission. Because Alan dies at the end of Hard Boiled, he could not return for the storyline of Stranglehold.

WHAT BABY entire Gatsby collection rules but this is just so fun to say. Especially in earshot of an actual baby www.harkavagrant.com/?id=259

Three panel comic by Kate Beaton titled “Like Tom’s a good father”
1st panel - Tom from the Great Gatsby asks “Daisy! Where is our daughter!”
2nd panel - Daisy, sitting on a couch replies “Huh?” Tom says “our baby”
3rd panel - Daisy, with a lit cigarette in a holder responds “what BABY”. She’s sitting on the baby. The baby looks blissfully unaware of the situation

For Christmas, Sarah got me a copy of the Japan version of Perfect Dark for the N64, entirely because it has hands-down the coolest box art that has ever blessed a video game. I look forward to leaving it in different conspicuous parts of the house to be noticed

The box for Perfect Dark on the N64 released in Japan. A woman in a short dress leans over the side of a couch, holding a gun. The room is bathed in red light. There’s a bunch of text in Japanese that I cannot translate because I do not read or speak the language

Hard launch! I have been hanging around exclusively with my new friend the baby for the last few weeks. The giant eye in the middle of her face comes from their mother’s side, which explains how beautiful and funny they are too

I think my love for the Mission: Impossible movies is a middle management power fantasy. Hunt will never sacrifice someone for the cause, and he knows better than those suits further up the chain who do more spreadsheets than spying. I never read Adorno but I read this Liv Agar newsletter

Screenshot of text: And its dependence upon these references seems to be almost perfectly in line with Adorno's analysis of television as "psychoanalysis in reverse" insofar as popular culture gains its sway over audiences by glorifying their neuroses as opposed to treating them. Such neuroses are generally the result of capitalist forms of domination that deprive one of their ability to survive and force them to attain their means of survival through competition with others on a market whose laws have enveloped almost all aspects of human social relations. 'Popular culture' as it currently manifests itself is only able to gain its appeal in this cultural environment. Its most effective (and therefore most profitable) iterations are contingent upon giving audiences a reflected image of their neurotic self, only presented in a flashy and idealized way that makes them feel as if the solution is not a treatment of their neuroses but instead their intensification. The more intense capitalist domination becomes, the more severe these neuroses will manifest, and thus, the more strongly audiences will demand a glorification of such neuroses within popular culture as treatment.

There is a screenshot of a forum post attached to the tweet, which reads: lol at your weakass baby pizzas. Bending them to my will through unyielding critique. I know you don’t have infinite room in a sub head, and it is reported in the story, but it is funny they left the second half of “lunatic, hooligan faction driven by far-right ideology” out of the top here

HOLD UP. We have confirmation - bamfstyle.com/2013/12/25/d... - Cerruti(!) cords. Very nice

Transcript: McClane wears brown corduroy double reverse-pleated trousers from Cerruti with belt loops, angled side pockets, jetted back pockets, and turn-ups (cuffs) on the bottoms. Text is accompanied by two screenshots of Die Hard 2 showing the pants. They still look like jeans to me

Went to a film prop and miniature museum in Lyon. Surprisingly hard to find an image from Die Hard 2 to confirm but unfortunately I don’t think McClane wore those corduroy pants

A mannequin wearing the outfit Bruce Willis wore in Die Hard 2 - a distressed blue outer jacket over a faded red and blue check shirt over a white vest. The mannequin also has light brown corduroy pants on, which are very stylish but I don’t think they’re in the movie. You can see a replica of The Thing from Fantastic Four to the right facing away from the camera
