It took maybe 15 minutes. The fish getting a bit more mangled as time passed, not a quick kill. The barbs on the fish were doing what they do getting caught in various places in the bill but it made the process very slow. Plus for pix, I have a slew of pics showing the barbs being barbs.

Well, Jiminy Cricket, It's a Chipmunk eating a grasshopper!

A chipmunk sits on a log, chewing on a grasshopper. One wing and a red leg is visible close to "Chippy's" mouth. The rest of the grasshopper appears to be tucked into the Chipmunk's pouch.

The Red Crossbill has upper and lower mandibles with large hooks for opening cones. They range in colour from red to orange to olive/yellow.

A Nelson's Sparrow is a bird I hear at times but (almost) never see. I finally got to photograph one in Sunpoke, #NewBrunswick It disappeared almost as fast as I could hit the shutter button.
