Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Rounding off this week with a photo that we took when we were in Liverpool. Still saying it - with a little help from our friends 😁 #StopRosebank 061
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Our Pilgrimage for the Planet is this Sunday 4th October. Everyone is welcome - do join us if you’re near Oxford 020
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Our monthly Scottish Parliament vigil, currently focused on opposition to the Rosebank oilfield, was joined yesterday by 3 MSPs. There was also good news that there will be a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing in the Scottish Parliament this week. #StopRosebank #peoplesemergencybriefing 063
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 29/09/2026At the Labour Party Conference we were involved in two faces of the resistance to Rosebank. Our prayer vigil in the evening was a faith response to the harm that Rosebank would do to all that God loves. It’s important for the Government to see how wide the resistance to Rosebank is. #StopRosebank 062
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Early start for us at the Labour Party Conference protesting outside the Offshore Energies UK briefing session on North Sea oil and gas. OEUK is the leading trade association for the UK offshore energy industry (formerly known as Oil & Gas UK). Ed was right then and is still right now on this. 073
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 26/09/2026For starters, it doesn’t make economic sense. Then there’s the quite important matter of not making the climate crisis worse. The UK government needs to show climate leadership on this decision in the next few weeks. We can’t delay climate leadership at this critical time. #stoprosebank 051
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 24/09/20266.30-8pm 28th Sept: CCA Vigil, all welcome, near the Albert Dock Pride Sculpture (corner of Salthouse Quay & Gower St). We’ll also be around the conference centre and outside events 9am-5.30pm most days - email us (christianclimateaction@gmail.com) if you’d like to meet for coffee or help us flyer. 010
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 22/09/2026The UK’s five leading high street banks, Barclays, HSBC, NatWest, Santander and Lloyds poured $71.12bn (£53.05bn) into fossil fuels in 2025 alone, an increase on the $70.01bn (£52.23bn) they funded in 2024, and the $54.35bn (£40.55bn) they invested in 2023. 000
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Today we launched our fossil fuel banking table showing which Church of England cathedrals still bank with fossil fuel funding banks and which say they plan to switch. Most CofE cathedrals are still supporting fossil fuel funders and we hope this will encourage more of them to bank ethically. 1/2 121
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 21/09/2026You can join our campaign to let the National Trust know that we love them but we don’t love their bank - Barclays - funders of climate destruction. Make a sign, take it to a National Trust site and snap a photo. Post your photos on social media with the #NationalTustDropBarclays tagging in the NT. 010

Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Rev Sue Parfitt was one of four people on trial this last week for their actions with Insulate Britain. The jury failed to reach a verdict and was discharged. Sue told the prosecutor: “I am honoured beyond my words to be able to to do this at 84 for your children and your grandchildren” 092
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Rosebank will lock in emissions that that cause global overheating and climate change. Vulnerable people everywhere are praying that they that they are spared this. #StopRosebank 020

Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 13/09/2026We went to GB News with a message for co-owner Sir PaulMarshall. We were in prayer and song and silence to bear witness to the potential for good that is daily lost to us by the way GB News reports on issues related to the climate. GB News could help save lives if it told the truth. But it doesn’t. 194
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 11/09/2026There is still time to remind the Government that Rosebank is bad for us. Scan the QR you will find on our second photo to get the message to them. Help us to #StopRosebank 053
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 06/09/2026After a summer of heatwaves, an unprecedented El Niño on the way, and with thousands still missing in Nepal, approving new oil and gas would be criminal! Yet it seems the Government will approve the North Sea Jackdaw field next week. Ask your MP to tell the Government NO to #Jackdaw and #Rosebank. 065
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 02/09/2026The signs say it all. Just Stop Oil took to the road outside Parliament again. Vicars, priests and other Christians, alongside people of all faiths and none, speaking out for Creation. It is time for us all to be saying to our governments- stop burning our world, just stop burning fossil fuels. 2167
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Thank you everyone who came to see, hear and talk with us at the always inspiring Greenbelt Festival this weekend. It was amazing to be alongside you all, to have those moving and challenging climate conversations and to know that so many of us are together in action and advocacy for the planet. 020
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 25/08/2026If you are at Greenbelt this weekend, look out for us - spot someone in one of our T-shirts around the site, stop and say hi. We love to have a bit of a chat. And we are involved in these two sessions, so come to them and then stop to tell us what you think. #GreenbeltFestival 000
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 21/08/2026This is about choosing between investing in the industries of the future or doubling down on the industries driving the crisis. #StopRosebank #ClimateCrisis #nofaithinfossilfuels 092
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 20/08/2026Day 4 of our Stop Rosebank vigil and Sr. Kate Midgley, Missionary Sister of St. Columban, has something to say. Tomorrow is our last day - for now. You can join us at HM Treasury, 1 Horse Guards Road, London #StopRosebank #ClimateCrisis #nofaithinfossilfuels 010
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 19/08/2026Five heatwaves in the UK this summer! They are becoming more common because of climate change. They will become worse in the future if we don’t do something. There is a way to lessen future effects at the same time as making energy more secure and cheaper and that is investment in renewable energy. 0123
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 18/08/2026Day 2 of our Stop Rosebank vigil - You can't watch Britain and Europe burn and then argue that the answer is more oil. Firefighters battling hundreds of wildfires, half of England in drought - approving Rosebank would be pouring fuel on the fire. #StopRosebank #ClimateCrisis #nofaithinfossilfuels 010
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 17/08/2026Rosebank won’t cool a single home, lower a single bill or stop a single wildfire. But it will lock in decades more emissions. So as the Government considers its decision, we keep watch. Join us 12.30 - 1.30pm outside HM Treasury, 1 Horse Guards Road SW1A 2HQ all this week to say #stoprosebank 092
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 17/08/2026 If you are super enthusiastic we have a whole action guide. Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 17/08/2026You can join in. It’s as easy as making a sign, taking it with you when you visit or pass by a National Trust site and snapping a photo. Post your photos on social media with the #NationalTustDropBarclays tagging in the NT, or send the photo to us. The picnic is just a lovely additional extra. 000
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 17/08/2026Hopefully some rain is on its way, but before it comes we’d just like to share with you a couple more photos from our summer of picnics campaign to tell the National Trust that although we love them we don’t love the fact that they continue to bank with Barclays - funders of climate destruction. 220
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 16/08/2026Hmm …don’t know what went wrong. We’ll delet this post and try again shortly. 100
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 14/08/2026Our situation calls for rather more from the Government than asking us to avoid doing things that may accidentally start a fire. The Government is fiddling (round the edges) while the country burns (literally). Come on Mr Burnham, please also address what’s fuelling the fire. #climateactionnow 073
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 13/08/2026Last week weekend we went out to support of this amazing photo opportunity on Formby beach. Offshore Wind turbines behind. The climate crisis is a health crisis and we think it should have a National Briefing to tell the public about this. Thank you @healthxr.bsky.social for speaking out. 094
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 08/08/2026Link to petition is campaigns.nationaltrust.org.uk/page/196457/...campaigns.nationaltrust.org.ukI've signed. Will you? Add your name to help make wildfire prevention and climate resilience a national priority, and stand with the communities affected by wildfires. 000
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 08/08/2026Yes National Trust, climate change is here. Maybe it’s time to stop banking with Barclays, major funders of the causes of climate change?? (but the NT are not wrong folks, so do sign the petition) www.nationaltrust.org.uk/services/med... 111
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 07/08/2026This is THE moment when the UK chooses whether to remain locked into a declining fossil fuel economy or embraces the opportunities of a just transition. Use your voice. Join us any day Mon 17 to Fri 21 Aug 12.30–13.30 outside the Treasury #StopRosebank #ClimateVandalism #climatedenialism 042
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 04/08/2026Ever wondered why people spend time and energy campaigning and protesting on the climate? We asked people to say something about why they do this. Here’s what Magda said. 020
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 03/08/2026We’ve called our campaign ‘A Summer of Picnics’ because we’d love for you to have a picnic when you go with your sign, it’s a representation of the generosity, connection and care that we want institutions like the National Trust to embody. And there is love and magic in the act of sharing food. 030
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 02/08/2026The National Trust is still banking with an institution that seems committed to unethical and destructive investment, and whose organisational values seem so at odds with the NT we love. We have launched a new campaign to remind them that they really should move their finances away from Barclays. 011
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 31/07/2026While wildfires burn and we swelter through heatwaves, Shell announced a £7.4 billion last quarter profit. It’s utterly irresponsible and morally reprehensible, and each week we hold a vigil to lament this brokenness. This week we joined a bigger protest, because this wrong should be a big story. 056
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 30/07/2026Over 18,000 people and 180 organisations signed the open letter to the new Energy Secretary telling her to reject Rosebank. Oil & gas fields like Rosebank will mean communities pay the price of global warming while Big Oil cashes in. Thank you to #stoprosebank and all of you who signed the letter. 051
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 29/07/2026It’s over to you now. Last week we delivered a letter urging the new Energy Secretary not to approve the Rosebank oil field. You can add your voice by signing the open letter to her - it lakes less than a minute. Sign here actionnetwork.org/petitions/op... #stoprosebank #climatevandalism 022
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 28/07/2026When we were @elycathedral.bsky.social last week we were joined by the lovely @Lara4stneots who explained why she thought the cathedral should stop banking with @barclaysuk.bsky.social #ethicalbanking 001
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 26/07/2026Some good conversations at our table at the Top Church Sunshine Fayre in Dudley. Thank you to the people who turn out across the country to talk climate. Having those conversations and planting those seeds is so important. 020
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 25/07/2026Yesterday we delivered a letter to the new prime minister and the energy secretary from over 60 Catholic organisations and leaders urging the prime minister and the energy secretary to #StopRosebank, and to lead the UK towards a future marked by justice, responsibility and hope. #catholic 033
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Banking with Barclays is not aligned with a commitment to safeguard the integrity of creation. Barclays is increasing the amount of financing it provides to fossil fuels projects that are harming the world, and all who live in it. 021
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 22/07/2026At DESNEZ today to welcome our newly appointed Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, Miatta Fahnbulleh. With her previous strong commitments to a just transition and climate justice and she knows that any new oil & gas is completely incompatible with a liveable climate. #StopRosebank 041
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 20/07/2026In position early to greet Andy Burnham with #stoprosebank banners on his route this morning. And in case he didn’t see them as he passed, he can see them in the news (photo). Get our newsletter - out tomorrow morning - to find out how you can help. christianclimateaction.org/newsletter/ 051
Christian Climate Action @cclimateaction.bsky.social · 18/07/2026URGENT- We need your help. Andy Burnham is considering announcing new plans for drilling oil and gas in the North Sea on Monday.
