Aria and Marisol: www.gofundme.com/.../help-mar.... CM-IRC: www.gofundme.com/.../central-.... Every donation matters. Every share helps. Happy Mother’s Day! 💐 (2/2)
Image of roses. Text says "Isabel and Jorge. Isabel Flores was detained during her immigration hearing. Isabel is the wife of Jorge Flores and the loving mother of three children: Thiago (12), Isabella (10), and Thais (5). She is a compassionate, selfless woman who is always willing to help others. Isabel is not only the heart of her home, but also the primary caregiver for her family. While her husband works tirelessly to provide,Isabel had been responsible for the daily care and nurturing of their children. Your donation supports Isabel's legal fees, household expenses, and the children's medical needs.

She never missed an immigration appointment, and she has a pending asylum application. When she attended an ICE check-in appointment of January 31, 2026, she was detained anyway. Her sister, Mari, is now struggling to make ends meet as she provides for her own daughter (age 11) and Aria's 2 children (ages 2 and 5) who now live with Mari. Your donation supports groceries, household costs, and legal fees for Aria as Mari raises three children while working at a local restaurant." htt's://gofund.me/Of7d5fdd

Mother’s Day reminds us that families belong together. Cruel immigration practices are keeping parents and children apart. Please consider donating to Aria and Marisol here in Carroll County and other local families on the CM-IRC gofundme page. (1/2)

Some additional ways to support your community #migrationisbeautiful #CarrollCoIRC
Purple image with a box of food at the bottom. Text says "Step 3: Donate items to our food pantry. If you prefer direct action in person, come say hello and drop off non-perishable items every Friday evening from 6:30-7:30pm. Whether you are supplementing meals for an eldest sibling caring for little ones our an auntie caring for her sister's children, your generosity matters. Check out our Linktree (in our profile) to see our suggested list of items and drop off locations" Image of two people gardening. Text says "Step 4: Talk with your neighbors. Action doesn't have to be big, loud, or fancy. It also isn't limited to our group. The best thing you can do to strengthen relationships is to get to know your community. Introduce yourself to a neighbor, check-in on a friend, or try out a new community event. Being a good neighbor is free of charge! Image of CC-IRC logo. Text says: "Join our Team. Interest in taking your mutual aid one step further? Message us directly to find out about additional opportunities. Members of our team have been trained and vetted through local organizing channels. Thank you for your patience regarding our response times as we learn and grow together."

3. You can donate to our food pantry to directly help community members affected by ICE actions.
We also have a food pantry that accepts drop offs from 6:30-7:30 on Fridays. These food donations go to help families and children in our area who have lost or reduced access to food due to a family member being taken by ICE.

Please help us keep Carroll County schools safe from ICE. All children deserve to feel safe at school! For more info: www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=...
Based on community feedback at the last BOE meeting, the board has updated its immigration enforcement policy. They only integrated one of CCIRC’s suggested changes (designating school buildings as private spaces), and the policy STILL does not explicitly state non-consent to immigration enforcement at schools. Rather the policy designates the sheriff’s office as the decider of whether or not ICE enters a school. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is actively collaborating with ICE and cannot be trusted in this capacity. We have seen this week that DHS is willing to condone its ICE officers murdering civilians. We demand a policy that unequivocally states that ICE does not belong in schools.

CCIRC believes that the proposed policy continues to show a lack of care for immigrants and immigrant families in our school communities. We ask community members to join us in actions to show your support for school safety and community care. More details are available at the FB link in the post's text

CALL TO ACTION If you believe transparency in local government matters, join us to ask for investigation into Dewee's and the Sheriff's Office regarding alleged misconduct. See link for more information on writing a letter or attend a meeting listed in the image: www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=1...
CALL TO ACTION: The Carroll County Times recently published details from Heather DeWees' divorce complaint alleging that Sheriff DeWees had affairs with “local attorneys and attorneys employed at the Carroll County State’s Attorney’s Office, Maryland State Troopers and staff, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office deputies and staff, and other candidates for elected office in Carroll County." If you believe transparency in local government matters, please join us in taking the following steps to demand that Sheriff DeWees' alleged unethical behavior is investigated rather than swept under the rug.
