Half the planet is having a massive fight about how to correctly interpret an Ancient Greek poem but go ahead, close some more humanities departments.

Good to be back at @imc-leeds.bsky.social this past week, holding swords, talking manuscript networks, and participating in yesterday’s Digital Medieval Studies Institute ⚔️ Met so many fun and interesting folks— and almost forgot my MedRen fomo 🫣

A beautiful day in Cambridge for the @ihr.bsky.social New Directions in the History of Liturgy study day. Turns out a 5 minute flash paper was plenty of time to kick off some good pontifical chat!

Our brilliant PGRs are at it again! After last year's inaugural and highly-successful brat symposium (organised by CMS PGRs Shauna Roach, Sarah Collinson, Harry Lewis, and Isla Dawson), this year's committee is once again inviting Bristol PGRs to consider how 'brat' connects with their own research.

(charter) business in the front, (chant) party in the back #fragmentfriday handrit.is/manuscript/v...
Charter from 1311 (apparently written on St. Swithun's Day, July 2) written on the back (?) of a page from a gradual.a page of chant with the introit for Advent I, "Ad te Levavi". The "A" has a large oval in it in which a figure is seated, but also seemingly following the chant's directive to lift one's eyes, so that it looks a bit like Christ is eyerolling.
