The worst thing is doing a study like this, trying to replicate it, then realizing you have to backtrack and do the fundamentals all over again because you’ve developed a better eye for proportion and shape/form/volume than when you started and current process just ain’t working. 💀

It sucks being the chronically ill friend on weekends because everyone is out living their life so I don’t hear from anyone really. And like yes I want my friends to have social lives and not be glued to their phones. But it wears on you when you’re perpetually stuck in bed.

The bottom photos is an after shot of lighting studies of the same character at different angles with far more focus on facial planes for improved lighting and rendering.

Character studies!!!

I wasn’t super happy with how the rendering of the final scene went in Episode 2. Viewers assured me that it was still impactful, which I’m very grateful for. But, just like the first time around, Legend of the Trickster’s Pass is a learning experience for me to figure out what I don’t know but need to know to tell a good story in this medium.

Ep3 is going to take a bit more time to come out than Ep2 did. But it is set up to be longer, with lots of character interaction, and a set up for the final episode of Act 1 with Ep4.

So the delays will be worth it! And in the meantime, I posted behind the scenes content for Episodes 1 + 2, and an exclusive scene sketch over on Patreon with more to come for anyone who wants to support the project(:

Since starting therapy with an actually good therapist, every few weeks I enter a new level of peeling back the level of repeated trauma I’ve been dealing with my entire life and oh boy is it a fucking revelation even after the hundredth time. We haven’t even started trauma work yet.

I’m honestly so glad because Mari’s had the same base design for SOOOOO long. Like 16 years. So changing it last year was a LOT, and I’m so glad people loved it. She’s gonna get a few improved tweaks when I finish LotTP and start working on the main story audio drama. Might post concepts on Patreon

Ke'oke and Ida's relationship is the classic emotional-stoic duo, because I love that trope a lot! Ke'oke can and will dispense sass, when it suits them. It is also a more lowkey toxic relationship which is important to both characters' development and in this essay I will- #oc | #ocsky | #art

(I should note that Laura and Colleen are white which I absolutely understand if that’s not helpful, but for CR the people playing nonbinary characters are very diverse.) Otherwise maybe consider YouTubers, audio book readers, and influencers? (I had to study a lot of different ppl for LotTP)
