Here's the second thing that might stand out to you if you look closely, this one's less egregious. In fact it's so slight that I haven't bothered to fix it just yet. But the Copy Layer panels are ever so slightly larger than the Copy Boards, which are thinner. I didn't realize I had made two kinds.

Hey everyone it's Wednesday's Minecraft Mornings with your eepy host, Null! Today we're still noodling with the depot - I wasn't able to play yesterday so we did an indepth look at the construction, but let's get into the details of the new construction!

the inside of the new depot, there's a switch to a blue toned wood in the internal fencing and the panels are ever so slightly mismatched, and many of them are still their bare metal without the external sheeting

On the inside, the interior walls will in fact be those fencing posts which are connected to the exterior sheets of metal. Once the interior isn't exposed to the wind, it's easy to install the lighter weight wooden flooring, where the copper ring implies it's inside an attached metal frame.

Compare to this, where the depot is smaller, the material is metal which IS notably heavy but it's far less dense a construction, the walls are rolled sheets of metal instead of full blocks and they're attached to metal rods which are connected to the cradle it's situated in.

From the bottom, we have a larger base, and it looks okay from here but I run a platform out on the bottom to allow maintenance and construction. This is an ebony catwalk that lead to some metal scaffolding/catwalk platform which could work but has nowhere to go here. This is the wrong place for it.

I wanna come back to this picture to deconstruct where I was running into issues with the construction underway. First, what we have is bridge supports running under nearer the center. On top of that, unsecured lengths of blank stone foundation is laid. Stone pillars on the corners on top of that.

This is all for this morning, it took a while to figure out what texture and design I wanted when I reimagined the building from the ground up. It's worth the time though, if you want something, to spend the effort to make it how you like it.

The outside panel copycats will be swapped to a corrugated looking metal panel which is, I think, from an ad astra metal pillar that's hollow. you can see how they'll look from the inside from this angle, the fence should also be swapped to a new texture.

You can see here if you look that the floor is being set in, and I'm using the copper casing from create because it's exactly the tone I want for this specifically. It reminds me of the floor of the trailers I used to unload when I worked at the warehouse.

The indentation is kinda part of its charm, ideally the idea is that the box will sit inside it and the siding is put up around it to serve as the walls. Practically you can see there are raise blocks in the corners that align with the slabs which the floor will actually rest on.

The footprint on the depot is smaller than before and you can see it show up on the map as a kind of translucent gray box. There's likely to be about two, but I might add a third if I like how they look. They're incredibly zinc intensive, though.

Basically what I'm doing here is reconsidering my approach. I'm building a frame of relatively light metal supports I want to hold my depot, which should basically be a lightweight fairly modular container for storage that will accept modifications. So I start building a "cradle" basically.

A frame of lightweight metal boxes with an indented center area takes shape where the floor will be place.

Hey everyone, it's Monday #MinecraftMornings! We're building the depot on the bridge today! The initial design wasn't working. It was too large and unwieldy, looked like it would be teetering on the frame. The undercarriage was badly designed and underbuilt. So I strip it down to basics.

Good Minecraft Sunday Morning Edition! Today we're coming back to the depot design. The original has me placing these stone slabs onto the wooden supports which is my usual sort of design. Then I installed some hollow metal pillars so I can build the frame. I wasn't sure I was happy with it.

I've had such hit and miss luck lately which I guess is a pretty big step in the right direction. But I'm tinkering with the depot construction and I think each part is kinda individually correct but not in the right configuration, may not be needed when put all the way together.

Where the buckles are in the bridge to allow it to expand and contract, I add large chains instead of blocks which would risk buckling otherwise, these will give it critical inches of give in any direction. The other chains will link to suspension supports.

I'm going to want to install the roll gate on the entrance here, but it's not the biggest priority because it'll be connected to the building itself so it's technically an internal door or entrance. From the inside here, you can see the light come in from the window

We're able to generate power thanks to Syanpsid thinking ahead but the generator still runs coal and it's a bit inefficient - not only that, but we're trying to use it to break down water into oxygen and it's power intensive, but it does work for a while.

That gate will likely continue to come down. It's not really intended to prevent people from walking in, although sometimes there are pillagers. Instead, the intent is to stop naga from blowing through the building which they kinda do anyway by clipping through. But it still helps a lot.

There are two naga, actually, which is a lot more than twice as dangerous because being pincher attacked is a fantastic way to end up dead outside your own house. Fun fact: the flintlock actually has shockingly good range. It acts like a long rifle in this game.

Naga like to attack from far away then rush, making them tough to pin down. Bows are usually a super reliable way to help here, but they're faster than arrows and when you fire they try to dodge them. They're usually successful. But they aren't faster than bullets.

These roll down gates have already proven to be helpful under the assault from the naga. The naga can be really dangerous because a combo of acid breath and charge attacks still knocked my health down before I knew it. But this let me eat and regroup.

Some of my progress today is slow because I'm tinkering with stuff that I'm not super familiar with. I don't have a lot of the materials I need for upgrades but apparently you can't go wrong with adding some diamond to your tools and weapons. I'll be using this a while so it's worth the juice.

In this case, we were experimenting with some new tools. @synapsid.wtf came by to demonstrate the schematic cannon which is highly effective and a little whimsical. It reminded me a little of the description of nanobots rebuilding Tokyo in Gibson's Bridge trilogy, blocks tossed on ground to top.

I fear the terminal on this end is a bit too plain so I need to do something to kinda give it something interesting. Maybe I'd like a big window on the top half and some roll down gates on the bottom, then open up the building below the porch.

Terminal building is set off with a pair of pillars and a gridded walkway space. Inside is the facade of the vacant apartment and the stairs down.

Anyway the rest of the Minecrafting here, let's see - I think I want to extend the length of the cage bars one more just for aesthetic reasons, but this does still function perfectly. The andersite bars look like they'll have enough room to brace yourself with in an emergency.
