OUT NOW the new album from On Idyl - 'The Fecund Wood' here's a few words from the artist: 'These songs feature slow rolling drones, while synth arpeggios percolate. At other times they are haunting and melancholy, very much like the forest that inspired them.' onidyl.bandcamp.com/album/the-fe...

Loving it :D Why didn't I think of that...?

Cavern Cult @caverncult.bsky.social · 17/08/2025

No, if anything post they're a post blues band ;) But actually it's a psychedelic turned progressive rock band I think. On the other hand, I describe Post Rock to people with very mainstream music knowledge like a punk version of Pink Floyd. They have paved many ways

and orchestral grandeur interchange with introspective guitar or rhodes parts. Very seldomly some beautifully recorded drum beats appear, but when they do they kick ass - just to fade away the next second to give way to the crackle of another field recording.. (2/3)

I'm absolutely blown away by this album by Khaled Kurbeh. I have seldomly heard music that's so spontaneous, thought-out, reduced and impactful. There's a tranquility, and deep brooding passion to it at the same time - electroacoustic compositions made of synth impros, playful rhythmic gestures(1/3)

Parasite becomes aggressive. Sure all the musicians looking at our £0.0003 Spotify payouts for our work are delighted this is what our fans’ money went towards instead, and the fans equally pleased. Artists are always very in favour of war, traditionally.

And I especially like that one can hear all the individual aspects of the Isis sound in their latter projects. Isis has truly been an amalgam of personalities

010

Cavern Cult @caverncult.bsky.social · 08/06/2025

This one is so underrated. It's so different to Panopticon and Oceanic - Isis haven't been afraid of organic change and I really appreciate that they called it quits before they turned into an empty construct riding on former accomplishments like the majority of "older" bands

Haha that's cool, I didn't know about him and his music - fascinating guy :D Defintely big synths, especially on this record one can hear that he learned a lot from Klaus Schulze - but he's from a musical world that I'm not familiar with, it's nice for a soothing vacation trip! Thank you :)
