Replete with home made gingerbread loaf and custard, I now turn to this literary debut about the forbidden love between a Roman Catholic priest and a woman. Wasn't sure first few pages, now hooked.

Well @birdfeed1.bsky.social will be disappointed with me but I went for a very healthy option as my M&S treat. Never had one before and was curious.
Three pack of persimmons (eat like an apple or cut into slices)Cross section of a fruit. Looks like a slightly elliptical orange tomato with no visible seeds. Or a plum without a stone. Wasn't as sweet as honey but was very refreshing.

Absolutely stunning sunrise in Nepal. It's been a real education, seeing daughter's photos. Not what I expected at all. Would like to go.

If you are at all interested in fabric, fashion or dressmaking then I wholeheartedly recommend this beautifully curated and FREE exhibition at the Harris Museum in Preston. It showcases the iconic 50s style of Horrockses.
A selection of floral day and cocktail dresses and a bathing suit beautifully displayed in a room decorated with floral walls and large paper flowers Very smart going away dress and three quarter sleeve duster coat with full length lapel of fabric matching the grey/white patterned dress which in turn has a black bow at the neck from the coat colour An evening gown and wrap in the kind of cotton that would be appreciated in hot countries or menopause. White with grey pattern Beautiful strawberry print skirt with red coat in nip waisted new look 50s style plus bow neck and matching hat on a mannequin

Will transcribe on request but note that today's "do" list is frescos, applause, pulp
And my "don't" list is excuses, upselling and trenchcoats

Started this today. I'm considering getting a book out of the classic section every month, although I'm trying not to make it a hard rule as I will obviously then resist reading it. This was recommended by someone on here.
Stella Gibbons Cold Comfort Farm, as recommended on here actually

Going to finish reading this, the book that I started at 4am and set aside at 6 to finally go back to bed. I thought it might help me feel less sorry for my overheating, insomniac self.

Current book has many words of wisdom and is an easy read. Most useful bit of advice so far: If you have to choose between guilt and resentment, choose guilt.
