I believe there were tweaks being made to how quotas were managed or accounted for, but the US made unreasonable demands to autos & other issues that caused us to walk away. This fight is not about the dairy mgmt system. The amount of over quota tariffs is a convenient # to complain about

FYI, both US and Canada have TRQ in the USMCA. Imports under the agreed amount are tariff free; over the quota have tariffs. It’s to protect our dairy farmers from a much larger country dumping their products and potentially destroying local farmers.

Such irony, considering US prisoners are forced to work for pennies, if they’re paid at all. And the US has one of the highest incarceration rates in the world. Often, people end up in prison because they can’t pay a traffic fine
