Yesterday was one of those rare and beautiful autumn days where the sun shone and there was barely a breath of wind. Unfortunately today normal service has resumed with wind and rain aplenty #Shetland

It is just incredible what you can find at low tide, always different and always an adventure 😁

In reflection, these leaves fallen across a puddle, have found a way back into their parents’ arms.

A photo of a puddle in the woods, with leaves across the surface and reflections of the trees they fell from.

This is Entada gigas, it is a seed from a plant found in Caribbean, South and Central America and parts of Africa. When pods break these seeds can fall into rivers and be washed into the sea. This one made it' way to Shetland 😊

Today I found my first seabean. This seed has travelled a long way to reach #Shetland. Starting it's journey in a tropical forest, travelling with ocean currents and washing up with our first autumn storms. A little piece of luck and joy to hold onto as daylight fades and winter approaches.

In some ways it feels incongruous to share a cover when Dolly Parton was such an incredible songwriter but her decision to sing this song says so much about who she was and what she stood for. youtu.be/CEPUxpR64YE?...

The Dore Holm sea stack is often compared to a horse bending to drink from the sea. Here is a Shetland pony demonstrating the accuracy of this description #Shetland
