Nice to know although our situations are mostly likely very different. 🫂 My toolbox is pretty extensive and have lots of experiences to draw from.

Not to sound conceited or narcissistic but in the grand scheme of things isn’t it you that matters the most?

#TheCampfire This is an affection about a man across the street living in an apartment above a garage. I start with a wood fire pizza from his favorite restaurant, The Black Pelican. Mark, a ferocious reader of books, all star griper of change and tender in spots ⬇️ alt

if you glimpsed through his rough, died on October 1st.
I don’t even know his last name, but we had many good talks while sitting on his small side porch. His gravel and grit voice punctuated with coughs, held court with stories from youth, complaints about society changing before he could grasp the changes and books. He’d never reply to a text, but call and he’d pick up with a what’s going on.
In the everyday coming and going he always had a book so I started leaving books which I thought would be of interest to him. The best he had to say was, I wouldn’t have picked this up, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for bringing it over.
His most famous gripe, out of a never ending stream, was this street is full of old people in by 5. I reminded him that we were old too and he simply replied, yeah, but we’re still outside.
So there will be no more books to share, waves of hello goodbye or hearing the new gripe. He has left on the edge of fall when the light starts to wane early and the mighty oaks begin their shedding and we’re all in by 5.

This touched me so much that I wrote my own story twice in the reply complete with pictures it didn’t post I see that as a sign that “Everything Happens For A Reason” perhaps the story isn’t finished yet. Perhaps the third time is a charm. These five words “Are We Having Fun Yet”

A white box truck with the words “Everything Happens For A Reason” spray painted on it.

I can’t wait to have breakfast in New Brunswick

I remember as a kid when this wood range was burning hot, water droplets dancing as the condensation dripped off the cover of the constant boiling pot.
I remember the taste of a Tang (not what you’re thinking) packet freshly opened almost making you sneeze as you lick the orange drink crystals.
I remember cast iron and aluminum pots fighting for space on top of the hot iron slab of which you had to open to provide more fuel.
I remember this as a little blonde boy with his arm up to his elbow in the Puffed Wheat Bag trying to liberate the prize if his brothers haven’t done so earlier.

Better Red Than Dead I would say to my brother when he was with his Capitalist friends, just to make his face turn red. (My said brother reads this sometimes) he would find it funny
