This image is extremely funny to me considering how Wonder Woman kicks all of their asses in Rucka’s run when she goes blind.

From Wonder Woman Come Back to Me 6 - The Justice League kicking Diana out for having lost her powers. She defiantly says “I can still be use”

On Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories combat

In Castle Oblivion, a masked Organization 13 member speaks to Sora:
Sora it's not that fucking hard, you don't have to tap lands to play cards here

Sora: Hey chill out man. Don't act like "cards as combat" makes any sense to begin with.

Org member: Respecfully, why are you making it hard. Big numbers beats little numbers. Simple.

Sora, now angry: Respectfully, why the fuck do I have to play a card to swing my sword.

I kinda wanna check out the Action Comics backup about Kara but I don't wanna get the main book that everyone I know is saying isn't super strong. I get too many comics rn anyway. Hope the collected edition won't take too long so I can borrow it from the library.

Ultimates 7 #NCBD My one Marvel book lol. I don’t really have much to say other than this series continues to be really great and it's nice to sort of slow down after last issue. I'm only vaguely aware of Jim Hammond so I liked getting a moment with him, or this version at least

Absolute Superman 2 #NCBD Themes of AI here are depressingly funny. I think even tho the first issue had a really strong set up for many ideas, this issue is where the rubber meets the pavement. Aaron builds the ideas as we learn more about this Kal and Lois. The panel composition is *chefs kiss*

Poison Ivy 28 #NCBD Wilson continues to set up future plot threads for the year. It might be jarring that Ivy doesn’t want to take advantage of a pop-up army but I think the fact that she doesn’t want to be used and she wants to be able to live her own life for a bit makes sense. /1

Batgirl 2 #NCBD Cassandra Cain my beloved. Oh my god this was amazing. I think all the little things I couldn’t quite vibe with in #1 clicked this issue, I am ALL IN. The art, the writing, hell even the structure. And the moment at the end is heartbreaking.

One thing I want to really call out is how cool the lettering is for this book. @claytoncowles.bsky.social did an amazing job this issue, (but he always does tbh). y'all should go buy this issue for real

Barda looks in shock at something and says monster, before letting out a cry that is no contained by a speech bubble and the texted contains multiple layers for to show off how intense the speech is.

Birds of Prey 16 #NCBD BOP remains a really fun title – it’s been kinda refreshing seeing Cass undercover, I really like how Thompson’s been writing her. The mystery is revealed and while it’s basically in line with what I expected, Thompson does a great job balancing characterization and action.

JSA 2 #NCBD There’s a lot happening in this book with very little explanation. Ironically I think this is also what gave me trouble with John’s JSA run. I like the JSA but it always feels like I’m missing years of context for everything no matter what

can we talk about how aside from being one of the all time greats who made batman, green arrow, and the question who he is, denny o’neil is also just a very funny man

Have you grown to hate the word "relevance?"
Yeah, it's not my favorite word anymore.
Seven years ago you said, "Beginning writers in comic books should not try to be creative, they should be commercial."
Yeah, I probably said that.

I think Disney should make a musical adaptation of Maleficent and then adapt that to film so we have a film version of a musical of a film retelling the story of a movie in a way that’s a inspired by a musical (Wicked) that is based on a book that is fan fiction to a movie based on a book

If you're unaware, Carol Strickland is an author and long time Wonder Woman fan. She has a very strong opinions and is not afraid to voice them, and while I haven't had the chance to go thru all of them her website is a treasure trove of thoughts on WW carolastrickland.wordpress.com/wonder-woman/

WELCOME to Wonder Woman Central. I’m trying to put a little of everything of interest to ME, ME, ME here, and you’ll notice that there’s a bit more opinion stated than you&#8…

when it comes to Wonder Woman 2017 I like thinking about Carol Strickland having to hold herself back from screaming at the movie when the twist is revealed

From Carol A Strickland's review of Wonder Woman 2017:
Action sequences, action sequences, falling in love scene, (tastefully) falling into bed scene, action sequences… and that nice bit between Steve and Dr. Poison at the ball, very nuanced. All excellent stuff. Red herring… By this time, it was a little obvious that Prof. Lupin was Ares. Sword utilized and then destroyed. Big reveal:

Diana is a god.

NO!!!! I almost stood up and screamed some four-letter words at the screen.

DIANA IS NOT A GOD!!! That goes against every shred of how her character has been constructed. DIANA DOES NOT HAVE A FATHER!!!

DAMNED PATRIARCHY GOT TO WONDER WOMAN!!!!

No, no, an infinity of times NO!!!!!

I pretty much withdrew into myself at this point. The movie paled despite its attempts to amaze me with SFX. I mean, the movie HAD ME GOING and then they pulled the rug out from under me AND hit me on the head with a heavy skillet. No respect for me as a viewer or fan. No respect for Wonder Woman.

Damned, damned patriarchy.

Wonder Woman Earth One is a... well it's an interesting book. Many Controversial Elements. One element that really worked for me was Etta and the Holliday Girls. Etta is Bold. Proud. Funny. Takes no one's shit. And the Girls, they show Diana's impact and embody the change she brings to the world.

Black Canary is a kind of fascinating character to me because she's probably DC's 3rd or 4th biggest name woman character if we don't count the "female counterparts" like Batgirl or Supergirl, maybe placing 5th if you boost Raven & Starfire, but her attendant mythos is...odd? thin?

Ok so I’m less sure of this guess now that we have the name Tetracide. Maybe it’s a play on the fact that Greece had the 4 classical elements (Air, Water, Earth, Fire) so the tetracide “kills all 4” aka everything. We’ll find out I’m just having fun guessing
