Just realized I never announced this here! VESUVIUS is getting a sequel—ICARUS FELL! 🎉🪽 The reader response has been so overwhelmingly positive that my publisher didn’t hesitate to greenlight book 2 :’) Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d become an author of a duology.

Author’s first magazine feature! I’m so grateful for QSaltLake for highlighting my upcoming attendance at FanX Salt Lake as a local queer author. This was such a cool surprise, and I’m in amazing company in the article.

I have FINALLY drawn Loren and his cute lil bob cut for @cassbeewrites.bsky.social 🥰 Now everyone go read Vesuvius 🌋

A digital illustration of a boy with light brown skin and medium brown hair in a short bob-style cut. He wears a yellow shirt (technically a tunic that's cropped and now looks like a modern t-shirt) and has freckles and a hooked nose. He has one hand up on his head, pulling back some of his hair like he's about to messily tuck it behind his ear.

Allegra has carved an incredibly strong space in the SFF world for their clients. Their vision for upscaling my adult desert-set, enemies-to-lovers, queer fantasy, RED WASTELAND, is so, so, so powerful (editors… keep us in mind!). HIGMA to come soon for those curious!

NEWS! 💌 Starry-eyed to announce I’m now represented by Allegra Martschenko (@allegramartsch) at BookEnds Literary! After a whirlwind 2 weeks of querying and 10 offers of rep, I couldn’t be more excited to have secured such an excellent agent, especially as I expand into adult fantasy.

To all who see their hurts, loves, ambitions, and dreams reflected in Felix and Loren, this book is for you. Please remember that someday, you will find those who see you as you deserve to be understood. Thank you for being part of my mythology.

Today VESUVIUS releases, and I’m a published author. Felix’s story came from a place of hurt, but by the love of the hands it’s passed through, it became one of healing. Even as a writer, I’ll never find the words to thank those who held me through it. Now the story is yours.

Happy pride month 🏳️‍⚧️ If you want to help fund a trans person’s top surgery later this year, preordering my very queer book about boys kissing in the final days of Pompeii would mean the world to me :) 💕 Out June 10!

It’s rare for publishers to fund preorder campaigns. Can I afford it? Not really! Will it move the needle on sales? Probably not! I’m literally doing it because I want to, and it’s a way to connect with readers. That’s it.

120

cass biehn | VESUVIUS out now 🌋 @cassbeewrites.bsky.social · 23/05/2025

Keep in mind, if you’re a debut author seeing other debuts do merch & prints & stickers & bookmarks, and wondering why YOUR publisher didn’t do that for you It’s because that author is probably paying out of pocket Everything I’m doing for VESUVIUS is funded by me.

My hands are shaking as I type this. I’m unbelievably honored to announce that the final blurb for VESUVIUS is by CS Pacat, whose books were the first place I saw my traumas on page. VESUVIUS simply would not exist without Pacat.

The epic highs and lows of today were like -meeting cool friends at YALLwest vs -my pet-sitter let my dog escape and run in traffic and almost get hit until an angel stranger caught her and called me, but I’m two states away and somehow I ended up the one apologizing to the pet-sitter
