Labor has overwhelmingly won the remote voting booths and has gained the seat of Mulka. Yiwarr McGrath will be the new Labor MP for the remote seat in eastern Arnhem Land. Labor now holds 6 seats in the 25-member legislative assembly, while the CLP holds 17.

One Nation has won the Secret Harbour state by-election in Perth's south. Gym owner Luke Herdegen will represent the party in Western Australia's lower house, winning the seat which was previously held by Labor on an 11.5 per cent margin.

Labor is likely to retain Stafford. There has been a 4.1 per cent swing against Labor with additional postal votes still to be counted. But for the LNP to win from here, those postal votes would need to break very strongly in its favour. That is very unlikely to happen.

Labor won the Stafford Early Voting Centre with 51.1 per cent after preferences, and a 2.7 per cent swing against them. That booth gives Labor a bigger lead in this race, with one more early voting centre still to come tonight.

The primary vote is bad news for Labor. On the current (still early) count we're projecting Labor below 30 per cent, and the LNP above 40 per cent. But we also have preference counts in 2 booths that make the race look quite tight, with a swing to the LNP of around 4-5 per cent

The first election day booths have arrived. Labor's primary vote is down 8.5% in Stafford West but most has gone to the large number of minor parties contesting this sesat. In Chermside South Labor's primary is down 16.3% and the LNP primary is up 8.9% No preference count yet.
