There's a Kandinsky piece, Small Worlds V, that I have always adored. We recently rearranged our living room to bring the record player downstairs and add some more bookshelves, and I *needed* that print on the wall and couldn't find one, so I just. . .sort of whipped up my own. Sorry, Kandinsky.

On the walk back home, we decided to stop at the plant store and grab some herbs for the garden. Later on that evening, we listened to records and read books in the couch. Just a deeply satisfying day, you know? Anyway, here’s a sad bollard we saw at the train station.

We had a gorgeous day yesterday, so Jesse and I took a walk to our local coffee shop, which is inside the train station, and grab some lunch. We ate outside and I drew a picture of him there that does justice neither to him nor the concept of perspective, but I like it. It’s quirky! #urbansketch

This beautiful assortment of moss and tiny plants was in our back yard the other week. A forest in miniature. Think of all the microscopic life happening in this little patch, this whole world we can't see.

I did not do a lot of art this year. I really struggled with a particularly difficult piece from July-September that just drained my enthusiasm for art for a while, but I’ve been making myself at least do some sketches like the one you see here. This is our magnetic knife block in the kitchen.

Our farmers market had pioppino mushrooms on sale, so I cooked them up with some garlic and scallions. They were tasty! Sort of meaty. Expensive even on sale though, so I don’t know that I’d get them again.
