Thanks to Aurora Reimagined Coalition for leading today's policy walk to advocate for the short and long term changes needed to improve this corridor so people can safely walk, bike, and access transit. Aurora Ave has been a loud, fast highway for too long!
Picture of Aurora from one of the few crossings - an above-grade, non ADA accessible bridge - showing 4-5 lanes of travel and almost no room for anyone outside of a car.Our group walks along a sidewalk headed underneath Aurora, with the Aurora Reimagined Coalition's sticker "got 99 problems" in the foreground. About 35-40 people gathered to attend today's walk, at a stopping point near the zoo.King Co Council Member of district 4 Jorge Baron addresses the whole group a block off of Aurora so we could hear each other.

We all deserve to get to where we're going safely. After over a decade working towards Vision Zero in Seattle, it's clear we need to do more. Thank you Mayor Wilson, in signing today's executive order, for committing to taking urgent action for all who bike, walk, and roll on Seattle's streets.
Mayor Wilson sits a table signing Vision Zero executive orders with a crowd of staff, transportation advocates, and council members Eddie Lin and Alexis Mercedes Rinck behind her.
