my heart is so full after Friday’s visit to assisted living with the sweetest puppies. You can just tell these pups love people and want to make friends. I’m so proud of these pups! They don’t even know how special they are.

on Thursday we took our field trip to the cancer center to visit the staff! We had nurses, doctors, pharmacists, social workers and more come by for some much needed (and well deserved) puppy snuggles. Cont.

watching squeak get to play with his “siblings” is the sweetest thing. It’s not normal for a poppy to grow up with no siblings to snuggle, play, and learn with. Katniss and Peeta have been the perfect tolerant and sweet playmates for our feisty guy 🥹

every day mama Pip is more comfortable here and showing more of her silly personality. Shelter dogs, and especially mama dogs with hormones running wild, require decompression to know they are safe and to understand their new routine. Cont.

out in the sunlight Katniss’s heterochromia really pops. They’re different shades of blue right now, although her right eye will stay vividly blue and her left eye will darken. She is such a beautiful girl!

another field trip for the puppies this morning! We went to cheer on our friends at their charity softball league game. They lost the game but got the best puppy snuggles so I think they’re the real winners.

the babies went to Oktoberfest at a huge outdoor shopping center this evening! It was hot, crowded, and loud but they were troupers. They made lots of new friends, got snuggles, and passed out! Another great socialization field trip in the books.

things we learned at the vet: - Katniss & Peeta are chunky, lazy babies - Squeak is half their size but double (triple?) their sass - peanut butter & cheez whiz are the most delicious things

yesterday the puppies did some studying for future outside play dates. They investigated a pinecone and some sticks, strange and new textures and smells. Squeak and Katniss took their studies very seriously. Peeta tried his best.
