A wonderful visit today with a school in Vancouver sponsored by the #JCCJewishBookFestival. Kai and the Golem turns out to be an excellent book for delving into feelings and how to deal with them. My favourite answer: Golem shrinks from kindness. #Kar Ben Publishers. #kidlit #picturebooks.

Absolutely over the moon with a review from the Jewish Book Council for Kai and the Golem. The reviewer understood exactly what I was trying to achieve with the book. Also best compliment ever: "Children will recognize themselves in Kai." #Kidlit #Picturebook #KarBen

I was thrilled to present A Storm Unleashed to teachers at the Manitoba Social Sciences Association Conference on October 24. We had two sold out sessions. I was so fortunate to do the sessions with Kelly Hiebert, a Holocaust education scholar. #HolocaustEd #Berlin1935 #Middlegrade #Kidlit

My new #Holocaust #mg #novel launch. Berlin, 1935. What was illegal is now legal, including brutality against Hitler's perceived "enemies." #Fascism is now all there is. Mia, her dad and her dog, Max, must try to survive in a world where #hate has been #unleashed. #antisemitism #Canadiankidlit

My new book has arrived @mcnallyrobinson.com. In 1935 Berlin, Mia and her dog Max find themselves in a world filled with hate. Hitler blames the Jews for everything and Mia's Father is Jewish. Every day becomes more dangerous as #Nazis destroy #democracy in favour of #fascism. #Cankidlit #Canscaip

In Nazi Germany, the targeted population was encouraged to self-deport and the state sought to impoverish them to force them to leave.
