#quickreview of “He Who Fights With Monsters Book 2” by Shirtaloon #booksky #bookreviews #litrpg

Review: Great second entry in the series. I liked the pacing more than the first book and enjoyed the new characters and conflicts introduced. The glimpses into Jason beyond his façade are also great. On to book 3!

#quickreview of “He Who Fights With Monsters” book one by Shirtaloon #booksky #litrpg
Rated: Loved It
Review: This was my first litRPG besides Dungeon Crawler Carl and, while there were some similarities - I appreciated how different this book was. I don’t know if I’m sold on the genre, but I do think I’ll read all of this series. It did feel long, though it was the same length as some DCC books.

Forget SpaceX. Elon Musk will always be the guy who turned Twitter into a hateful cesspool of right-wing extremist propanda, assisted Trump's win, gave a Nazi salute behind a presidential podium & launched the deadly lie of DOGE that dismantled programs that saved millions of lives around the world.

This blew my mind. Some of the largest data centers can require up to 5 million gallons of water per day, equivalent to the water use of 50,000 people. Why are we selling out the survival of our planet to enrich a handful of Big Tech CEOs?

Review: Very well-written, but a frustrating book considering how it ends. I appreciate the main character’s story. I can’t say I would necessarily recommend the book, but I’m not mad I read it.

Review: Loved this book. Margo is a deep character and written well for the things she goes through and how she handles them at her age. The writing style felt very unique compared to most other books I’ve read.

You can become disabled in an instant. People think those of us who are sick did “something” to deserve it. We didn’t. The just world fallacy is a lie. It just takes one illness, accident or stroke of bad luck to forever change your life. Disability is not a moral failing.

“You’re so strong! I could never handle what you do”. Disabled people hear this everyday. Society wants us to be inspirational. They don’t want to accept that we don’t have a choice. We didn’t ask to be sick. You could do it too if you had no other choice.

Review: I enjoyed this book. I went in without any context and I’m glad I did, it made it more like I was experiencing the story alongside Bob. This is a very sci-fi book, so if you’re not into that, you probably would not enjoy this. The banter is fun though and it’s just some of the technical stuff that felt like it dragged on sometimes.

Review: Absolutely loved this book. The continuation of the previous book was perfect and I enjoyed Tarisai’s (and everyone else’s) continued growth. The multiple journeys that occur in this book were really well paced and I loved most choices the author made.

My only real criticism of this book was repeated uses of the word “manic”. As someone with Bipolar, I’m very sensitive to usage of that term not relating to actual mania.
