Set in Rome during the Nazi occupation, a priest with the help of his “choir” helps Allied POWs escape. I haven’t read anything about WWII set in Italy so loved that. But so much back & forth into the past, between characters I didn’t remember. Beautiful prose, but sometimes too much of it. 3/5 ⭐️
