I haven't seen one of these Tercels in years. Even in Japanese car high ownership, rust free Southern California. Saw this at the Showroom at Hollywood Toyota. I believe it's a 1997.

I think amber turn signals or to be inline with Toyota's current pursuit of cost cutting and high margins, a amber plastic reflectors, would make it look better like the FJ62 it's inspired by. I don't care for the FJ60's round lights, and the new 1958 version's halo lights.

As I mentioned in my comment, I agree with you for the most part. However for me personally,with tariffs going on, and the increase of prices because of inflation. For the first time in my life, I'm priced out of anything, ICE, Hybrid, or EV. I need to make sure my current car lasts for a long time

In many ways, I agree with you. However, I bought a new 2024 Crosstrek Premium for $27k. If I were to get a new hybrid version, it would be nearly $10k more. The savings and increased complexity are not worth it for me.If I were to consider a hybrid, I might as well fully commit to an EV.

Found this picture from 11/2004, when I bought my 2005 Corolla XRS 6 speed. Fun car! Was affordable. Less than $17k. Cars have gotten more expensive. My salary never caught up to car inflation and the weaker dollar.

Consumers are mainly responsible for this ridiculous price increase over the years, spending COVID money on dealer mark-ups, instead of saving it for emergencies. Just like "temporary" tax increases, prices never go down. We spoiled shareholders and executives with high margins.

Styling details looks horrendous on the Wilderness trim on the Outback. I looks very Japanese, but the ugly styling of Datsun Wagons I used to see all over as a child in the 1970s.

I don't understand what you mean. All I said is that self awareness of your surroundings is important. The new Landcruiser has a square front end. My post is about it's interesting that someone imported a Jimny. Going into an unnecessary direction is crazy. All legal U.S. cars require certification

The Landcruiser 250, Tacoma, and 4Runner has a square front end. I think it'll be ok. Safety is very important of course, but pedestrian self awareness is very important. I can't tell you how many times people lack self awareness of their surroundings and just cross the road without looks

People sneaking in Suzuki Jimnys in the United States. Pretty awesome. The new Toyota FJ is not small when you see it in person, and it's styling is too cartoonish. This Jimny is 25k cheaper, looks great. Also has a long production heritage, and is small, and off-road agile.

Hahaha. Well, those tail lights don't do it justice. It's grown on me over the years. But in 1975 you can buy this better looking Corolla. I grew up with vintage Toyotas, and I have a bias towards them. 😄

As a kid, I found these to be ugly. I never knew they were an even uglier version in Japan. Those tail lights are horrible. Just as I soften my thoughts on these I find this! 😆
