I haven't seen one of these Tercels in years. Even in Japanese car high ownership, rust free Southern California. Saw this at the Showroom at Hollywood Toyota. I believe it's a 1997.

I think amber turn signals or to be inline with Toyota's current pursuit of cost cutting and high margins, a amber plastic reflectors, would make it look better like the FJ62 it's inspired by. I don't care for the FJ60's round lights, and the new 1958 version's halo lights.

Found this picture from 11/2004, when I bought my 2005 Corolla XRS 6 speed. Fun car! Was affordable. Less than $17k. Cars have gotten more expensive. My salary never caught up to car inflation and the weaker dollar.

I must say, I kinda like it. Weird it's very close to what a Civic Type R sells for. A little on the expensive side. However it's Japanese assembly is flawless, and there's something I can't put my finger on that it's endearing to me

Consumers are mainly responsible for this ridiculous price increase over the years, spending COVID money on dealer mark-ups, instead of saving it for emergencies. Just like "temporary" tax increases, prices never go down. We spoiled shareholders and executives with high margins.

Styling details looks horrendous on the Wilderness trim on the Outback. I looks very Japanese, but the ugly styling of Datsun Wagons I used to see all over as a child in the 1970s.

People sneaking in Suzuki Jimnys in the United States. Pretty awesome. The new Toyota FJ is not small when you see it in person, and it's styling is too cartoonish. This Jimny is 25k cheaper, looks great. Also has a long production heritage, and is small, and off-road agile.

Subarus were known for their great value. However taking my Crosstrek for service and walking the lot, I'm shocked how much more expensive they are compared to last year. Makes me wonder how ridiculously expensive the New Toyota RAV4 will be.

When these came out, I found the styling lackluster. However, they were finally doing more things in house. The beginning of a Hyundai designed engine. If I remember right it was called the Alfa 4 cylinder.

It took me late in life to appreciate these cars. However, seeing these new back then as a kid, they appeared to me as ugly, dated, and lackluster. Now I see them as eclectic, desperate late attempts of holding on, that are part of an important history.

I must admit, for about $20k less than a similarly equipped Lexus TX, this 2026 Palisade is impressive. I'm surprised customers don't hold Lexus accountable for the horrible cost cutting they have been implementing. Long term reliability of course is debatable, but we'll see

I remember buying this CD on its release in July of 1992. It was bought at Tower Records in Northridge CA. In the San Fernando Valley. This was the portable CD player I used, using a cassette adapter to listen to CDs in my car. Time flies!

They finally realized that they needed a hybrid version. I love that it has a manual transmission. A Prius would kill it in efficiency and practicality, however I would rather drive the manual hybrid 500.
