💙 Not all our Ionian Sea findings were invasive! #CaRe-GR also recorded species of #conservation importance including the European spiny lobster (Palinurus elephas) and the rough pen shell (Pinna rudis), highlighting the conservation value of Greece's rocky reefs. #CaReGR #MarineEcology

🦁🐟 #Lionfish everywhere! During our Ionian Sea surveys, #CaRe-GR recorded widespread Pterois miles, along with Diadema setosum and invasive rabbitfish (Siganus luridus & S. rivulatus). Controlling these invaders is key to protecting Mediterranean reefs. #MarineEcology #bioinvasions #InvasiveSpecies
