I'm a huge fan of classic tycoon games from back when, but these havent stuck with me because of how granular they are. Every month or so on steam i see a new one that looks just like this but a different dev and theme.

They all have good reviews, interestingly. Very similar mechanics. Usually you have to order stuff that's delivered as a box out front. You stock the shelves, and have to run the cash register yourself down to even typing in the prices.

What you draw is also randomized and inspired by drawfee themes, using that same deck of cards. At the end of the game, you'll have a piece of paper or digital art collection of stuff you and your friends made!

Pair this with What It Is by Lynda Barry teaching me to draw for the sake of drawing, which is a similar idea. In the game, you and a group of friends all draw something on a jointlyshared medium (paper, digital, etc) while playing cards tonmake random events happen.

NaNo required you to embrace what i called "Literary Abandon," or just writing to write and put something down. You had 30 days to do 50k words, so there wasnt time to get stuck in your head about it.

Expanded it with some expansion packs, including one involving rolling a table or random fish and bug doodles i made, and then you the player name them, but in the narrative they've always been that. Also made a prettier PowerPoint formatted rulebook called the DELUXE edition.
