They moulded her out of mud and twigs, popped her into some capri pants, and sent her off with a weird little guitar. Worked out surprisingly well

Nah. Labour are literally saying they're not progressive. It's just an electoral business.
what Miliband told activists attending a

Labour fringe event organised by the soft-left pressure group Mainstream. "Too often in the past, we thought that kicking some of our supporters would do us political credit," he said, "and we were absolutely wrong." Offending people "in the progressive community", he admitted, was sometimes

done "deliberately".

Lucy Powell says the triple lock is good but in a few years it will be bad
■ We are committed to the triple lock. It's in our manifesto. The triple lock has really delivered for pensioners, in this country, over the course of this parliament ...

I don't know what Andy's going to say about that today, but I know that what he's talking about is this big conversation about solving these big problems, but being really honest with people that they come at a cost.Lucy powell aays Labour committed to triple lock for this parliament but won't say if it could go after election

I stand by my long held opinion that Caitlin Moran is fucking awful
Well. What a week. The history of conflict in the Levantine Middle East stretches all the way back to the Babylonians, Persians, Greeks and Romans. To try to understand the clashes of cultures, religions and factions in this region requires weeks of heavy reading, almost always ending with the exhausted conclusion, “Wow — this is all very complicated. It feels like there maybe isn’t a straightforward solution to the whole thing after all.”
But the worst bit? I think we can all agree: it’s Ed Sheeran’s backing band quitting his world tour after things got heated on TikTokFor a super-online generation for whom Gaza is the defining issue, Sheeran is now being talked about far more than either Binyamin Netanyahu, who ordered the indiscriminate bombing of Gaza (unlike Sheeran!), or Khalil al-Hayya, the leader of Hamas, who helped plan the October 7 attacks (also unlike Sheeran!).

Got blocked before I could respond, but comparing being a (multiple) landlord to having a phone is insulting and if you think that you're not my tribe. Also if you shitpost about someone I'm really close to it would be weird for me to keep following you. Oh well.

It's not over a twitter post it's over differing views and values as expressed in my op which you replied to

chiller @chiller.eurosky.social

Which differing views & values? The one where I'm colossally privileged, or the one where I'm twisting myself into a pretzel to defend my nonexistent landlordism?

Bc my views & values on this are that the entire system = exploitation, & maybe we should hear Ali out instead of believing the Times.

The BBC's political editor gets paid how much?
I observed Andy Burnham's opening moments in the Commons as prime minister from the Press Gallery. He hovered by the Speaker's chair waiting his turn, flanked by Labour's Deputy Leader, Lucy Powell, who appeared to brush some fluff from the back of his jacket, and Louise Haigh, his first secretary of state.

God it's so sickeningly hollow with Labour. There's no moral compass just electoral strategy and chin stroking. Hope they get completely clobbered.
James Austin
Yeah, i think, on balance this will be quite a good thing for Labour as it'll force us to think about our urban core supporters and socially liberal voters.

Will force a number of decisions; particularly on immigration where you'd be mad to go into this wanting to make such radical changes to ILR

There was a bloke doing butterfly (badly) in the pool and I was reminded of this passage in a novel I read recently. The truest words.
People who swim too slowly. People who swim the wrong way. Anyone who chooses to do the butterfly, which is a stroke for cunts. Agnes can never tell which of them she hates the most and tries to avoid them all indiscriminately. Swimming can be exceptionally calming, but only if conditions are right

Subscriptions you can't easily cancel, sales that aren't sales - I'll end the rip-offs that British people hate Andy Burnham

These everyday hassles are small, but they add up - especially in a cost of living crisis. That's why my government will tackle them head-on

I agree with this piece - I don't really wear headphones when out and about - and find the extreme strong reaction to it fascinating and a bit depressing, especially as the angle is "it's nice to live in a society, must we all be in our little auditory bubbles all the time"
