Context: yes, the Creator Program means I get paid to post on Threads – but to be honest, I was already looking for a "primary" microblogging home, since posting/replying on 3 sites is a lot. Threads also has the most robust content tools for what I'm looking to do right now (photos, audio, etc).

Hi all! Sorry for my recent absence here. Reason: I've joined Threads' Content Creator Program, so most of my focus has gone to posting there (same handle). I only have time for so many platforms. *Totally get it* if Threads isn't your thing, but that's where I'm spending most of my time for now.

No cover display trackpad, unlike the Motorola version of this feature (which does support that)

Actually once I realized they were never gonna put the pen into the phone itself, thus consigning users to a clunky case to accommodate it, I kinda gave up. Pen life is over (for me).

Finally got around to snapping some shots of Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. The stainless steel is beautiful and goes a long way toward hiding the odd circle-on-a-squircle design, and the return of the physical bezel is also welcome. More early thoughts on IG at @theMrMobile with YouTube video coming soon!

Adding to a fairly long list of “FINALLY”s today: Samsung’s most portable smartphone now supports DeX! Haven’t gotten the Flip7 fully running on the NexDock review unit yet, but at least wireless functionality seems to be present. DeXheads, rejoice!

(^ That one costs 💰 $1099, BTW) If that's too rich for your blood, Samsung's finally bringing foldables downrange with the $899 Flip 7 FE. Basically a Flip 6 repowered with Exynos and a few minor tweaks, for $899. (Motorola still has 'em beat on price with the $699 Razr, but progress is progress)

On the other side of the foldable divide: the Galaxy Flip7 gets Samsung closer to competitive with Razr: 🔋 4300 mAh battery 📏 Thinner & lighter (13.7mm, 188g) 🌈 Fun colors are back (again!) 📺 6.9" inner w/waterdrop crease 🖥️ 4.1" cover (run any app you want, but still takes an extra few steps)

I've been waiting for Samsung to get back to competitive foldables for years ... and the Galaxy Fold 7 might finally get us there. 𐄷Thinner/lighter (215g, 8.9mm) 🌈Fun colors are back! 📺Wider screens inside & out 💧Waterdrop crease 📸200MP camera 🤘Rebuilt hinge w/titanium lattice 💰$1999 🧵

Pretty sure it's gonna be Not Great, given Unihertz's prior efforts and my very early first impressions. But it's so cheap it might be worth a spin just to try out. No time for a video, at least not for a while. (Disclosure, I'm co-founder of a mobile keyboard company, etc etc)

Been exclusively using foldables since 2020. Haven't experienced a random failure like this, ever.

Yeah, "just" more screen space actually ends up changing every aspect of using a phone – mostly for the better, IMO. Replaces an iPad and a Kindle in one fell swoop, and it fits in your pocket to boot. Love me a foldable.

It's basically the same Razr as last year, so why bother reviewing it? 1) It's even cheaper, bringing foldables to still more people 2) It's the perfect phone for a "re-tox" following my Light experiment 3) I got to do it in Paris, thanks to VivaTech Premieres now! www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGTk...

This phone definitely isn't built to be an optical powerhouse, but in this (very retro-coded) setting, I love the "vintage" vibes it gives. More on my Light Phone III experience in a sec.

Qualcomm celebrated its 40th birthday in NYC last night, and I was on hand to capture a few moments through the (Snapdragon-powered) Light Phone III.

Yep. I heard some good speculation from @mkbhd.com on Waveform that Samsung maybe can't secure enough supply yet to meet the volumes they'd need – but the Edge doesn't seem like it'll be a huge seller, so idk. Maybe just R&D frugality.

I took Samsung's Galaxy S25 Edge to Google I/O to see if the reality is as confusing as the concept. The result was a surprisingly positive experience – but I'd still consider the Edge a lightweight. Review [with live chat!]: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhRp...

It's actually pretty soft. They're hall effect - there's a ton of travel (like, almost too much) but no physical switch click. Just bottoming out at the termination of the stroke. Takes some getting used to.

(Yes I know this is ridiculous but) this is actually handy in-flight, because a laptop usually doesn’t fit well at all here. Decoupling the keyboard from the phone/display has its uses. Keyboard is a sample K2H-F1 unit provided by @keychron.

I'd be more concerned about the move from book-type foldable to a flippable tbh. It's just a very different experience. You'd want to make sure you're ready to lose all that display area.

Nothing at the moment, but 16e does fit in our Clicks for iPhone 15 base model. The only thing wonky is the cutout for the action button.

We're currently constrained by what each platform allows, and iOS just has more robust shortcut capability for the moment. That said, this is top of mind for us (one of my favorite KEYone/KEY2 features was press-and-hold-to-launch-an-app). We'll do it if we can!

Motorola already had the best flip foldable – and the Razr Ultra cements its lead in features, specs & style. But it's not flawless. There's only 1 good camera; it's buggier than Razr '24; and the AI is meh (shocker, I know). Then again: WOOD! Review w/live chat drops in 20: youtu.be/eo9_K98nypE

If this *had* a battery case (or the magnets to support one) I might agree.
