Very interesting take on MAGA, by a man named Dave Crumby. Well worth a read.

We've all misread MAGA.
It isn't a belief system. It isn't a political ideology. — it behaves like a wasp hive.
A hive mind. A swarm response. A fear ecosystem.
Once you see it, you can't unsee it
A wasp hive isn't a group of individuals.
It's a superorganism — one fear-bound identity spread across many bodies.
That's MAGA's structure.
Not independent minds.
But identity fused into a single reactive whole.
Wasps communicate through alarm pheromones:
One threat - the whole nest panics.
One vibration → the entire swarm activates.
MAGA's "pheromones" are outrage loops: fear, conspiracy, invasion talk, existential panic.
They don't think in unison.
They panic in unison.

In a wasp hive, the queen doesn't lead - she emits signals.
Her presence suppresses independent behavior.
Her weakness destabilizes the nest.
Trump plays that role perfectly.
He doesn't persuade - he triggers reactions.
He sets the emotional temperature the hive obeys.
It's not leadership.
It's pheromone politics.
Wasp hives don't unite around purpose.
They unite around threat.
Threat creates cohesion.
Fear creates identity.
This is why MAGA always needs a villain.
Without an enemy, the hive loses shape - and panics harder.
A wild fact:
Wasp colonies burn themselves out through constant alarm-state stress.

Living in fear ages them.
Literally.
Humans aren't different.
Permanent fight-or-flight - outrage, grievance, conspiracy - erodes people.
Chronic fear etches itself onto the face.
And here's the part that matters:
Wasp nests don't collapse because someone destroys them.
They collapse when the hive gets tired of living in fear.
When resources drain.
When the queen weakens.
When the panic stops feeling like purpose.
Authoritarian hives rot from the inside.
Always.

So no — MAGA isn't a movement of strength or conviction.
It's a fear-bound superorganism, reacting instead of thinking, swarming instead of reasoning.
Seeing that doesn't excuse anything.
But it finally explains everything.
Fear built the hive.
Fear keeps it alive.
And fear is what will make it fall apart.
