I understand fully. Container system is preferred in densely populated areas. Both systems need operational responsibility: to only put out the bag on the correct evening, to not leave garbage next to containers, to empty the containers on a daily basis and keep the surroundins clean. Challenging.

The Belgian system is less smelly in the streets than most of the containers I encountered in Spain. But there is a climate factor, you don't want to store waste 1 week at home if you live in the south.

De vakantie brengt haalt weer de fooi-discussie naar boven: Griekse Peloponesus: nergens fooi gegeven/gevraagd, geen probleem, want normaal (neem ik aan). In Athene, voor 2 drankjes geen fooi gegeven: een 'Thank you for nothing' van de ober bij het afrekenen.

Ik wil niet moeilijk doen maar als je 13 jongeren uit Palestina die hier willen komen studeren voorstelt als de voorbode van een vloedgolf aan migranten, dan ben je echt werkelijk elk moreel kompas kwijt.
