Alternatively, when eels just aren’t slippery enough.
When you have tired of shoving eels up your jacksie and are looking for something even more slippery and disgusting, find yourself a Farage.

My best guess is near the dropped pin on this map. From some of the main roads in the area you can get a “streetview” that doesn’t look too far out. I’ve added a view that shows what could be the buildings in the distance in your photo. To get the alignment correct, the photo was taken further east.

You mean “and a fruity other way” surely ! 😂😂😂😂😂 Gotta love automatic captioning of a Scottish accent !
Still from a live concert video of one of the Proclaimers (Don’t ask which one, I haven’t a clue) as they perform their song “Throw the R away”
Automatic captioning of the line in the chorus reprising the songs name is rendered as “A fruity other way”

I visited this crazy bar in St.Malo many times. I always wondered why nobody ever sat on the “interesting” bar stools. Until I tried them for myself and nearly shattered both kneecaps 😬
Bar area of La Java Cafe in St.Malo, featuring the worlds maddest bar stools. Repurposed children’s swings suspended from the ceiling. The rest of the bar looks like it was decorated by a madman with a fetish for children’s dolls.

Vulcan XH558 engine run up. 3engines at 60% power, one at 90 %. The ear defenders were obligatory but did nothing to alleviate the stinging in my sinuses caused by the noise. 😮

Dog lovers comment after watching The Odyssey, a movie about the horrors of war, depicting slaughter on an epic scale.
SPOILERS !
Matthew: Dog lovers will certainly love this film. At the end when Odysseus came home, his beloved dog Argos who has waited all his life was so happy to see his master finally died with a peaceful heart.
Lauren: Matthew, I didn’t like the dog abuse scenes where they kicked a sick and dying dog then put him on a pile of shit forever but I guess that was in the source material. I also didn’t like the puppy being thrown over the cliff. The rest of the movie I enjoyed though.
Matthew: Ya me too. That poor dog they abused was old Argos

BBC online article entitled “How to walk 30 minutes a day - your tips”
Illustrated with pictures of a young woman in sunglasses holding a small scruffy dog next to a low sea wall with white cliffs in the background and another of a scrawny young man in black shorts, grey top and white baseball cap ( worn reversed, of course !) on top of a hill peak with a lake in the distance.

An old friend painted that castle for me many decades ago.
A painting of Eilean Donan Castle, rendered in muted blues, greys & greens. The castle and bridge are reflected in the calm waters of the loch, the mountains in the background are wreathed in mist and cloud.

My modest collection. Stopped collecting years ago when the Mrs. refused to buy any more vases. We first bought the smaller vase and she said, and I quote, “We’ll never fill that !” We haven’t done too badly considering half of what we drink has a screw top. 😳

Of course. I hope you appreciate that I got up at 07:30, on a weekend, to find that hastily thrown together pile of garden canes and bed linen. I ended up going with the general online consensus although a line diagram of the Ca.4 in this book shows it with unequal span wings. 🤷‍♂️

Was in Bennett’s bar last night when the lights went out for over an hour. Nobody batted an eye, just kept drinking in the dark as if that’s a perfectly normal thing to do. Luckily the card machine kept working and a little light from the illuminated beer taps meant the staff could keep serving.
A busy Bennett’s bar during a power cut. Minimal illumination from candles on some tables and light through a far doorway. Everyone keeps drinking with imperturbable focus.

I once foolishly asked copilot to help identify an old photo of an obscure biplane. It did not go well.
I asked for a 3 engined biplane, copilot kept giving me single engined answers and when I castigated it, it apologised profusely and asked for another chance.Next, copilot hallucinates a completely imaginary aircraft name and, when challenged, gives me another completely stupid answer.Yet again copilot gives an answer that is patently wrong, thanks me for my patience, then suggests another obviously wrong answer.More of the same, another ridiculous answer, a grovelling apology, then a similarly stupid answer.

The downside of having a bird feeder popular with goldfinches is that they are such messy eaters. All the spilled seed attracts a flock of pigeons. Luckily the pigeons eventually attract a solution to the pigeon problem.

In the spring I put up a feeder with sunflower hearts in an attempt to encourage goldfinches to my back yard. Over the summer I had a pair visit regularly, then 3 young joined them later. Now I get a flock emptying the feeder every day. The greedy little swine are eating me out of house & home.

Why? Just why ?
An info placard in a hotel elevator informing that rooms 107 to 112 aren’t on the first floor but on the second. It just gets worse from there, rooms 212 to 223 are on the third floor, but 201 to 211 are on the fourth floor !
The insanity continues to the 11th floor where you can find rooms 601 to 613 !

The seats at the bar are always empty. I found out why when I sat in one and almost shattered my kneecaps on the bar.
Very quirky children’s play park swings as bar seats in a French pub. All fun and games until you try and use them and your knee caps are shattered against bar. At least the alcohol they sell is a passable anaesthetic.

Used to call here regularly on my ship. A great run ashore. Did you visit the bar with all the dolls ? Super creepy !
Interior photo of La Java Cafe in St. Malo, the bar would look like an ordinary old French bar if it wasn’t for the fact it is decorated with over 3000 dolls. Not a venue to have a drink if you are nervous about being watched.
