(had a nightmare & cant sleep so im briefly back On Line.) i used to write a lot of poems about Being Understood Wholistically and Completely through animalistic screaming. it was ultimately too edgy to be Good, but now im pondering the Therian angle of this.

💔 SMOKE VISITS FLORENCE (4/5) [Page 9-12]

Smoke is now on Florence's lap, draping his wispy arms over their shoulders. "You should just enjoy me while I'm here-"
Florence cuts them off by kissing them. They grab his side, the smog rippling in response. Smoke breaks away, "Ah-! Be careful with the grabbing! You don't want me to disperse yet, do you?"

Florence bashfully apologizes. Smoke leans back and says "Lets just take things slow, yeah?"
The water ripples out. Florence says "Okay."

Page 11 & 12 are a double spread, florence's thoughts on Smoke illustrated amongst swirling lines of smog.
Page 11: "Smoke is an unwelcome visitor / but they're better than no one." Smoke grabs at Florence from behind.
"He's got an aftertaste of sugar, / film of fuzz on my teeth, / an ache that grows / into a bitter pain."
Smoke stands confidently over Florence as they grab onto him from below, holding on desperately as he wavers and disperses.
Page 12:
"But I want him here, to love me / & to hurt me when he leaves, so I can feel / deeper in the pool / the sunlight filtering into dark water."
Three panels show the water's surface from below, Florence's head looking up at it, and their legs in the deep, where the sunlight touches them.
"I want the loneliness, / The cycle / the pull / the hookup / the habit"
Florence's head breaks the water, their expression of an accepted sorrow.
"I inhale him into my bloodstream / my heart pushing him / into every part of me."

🚬 SMOKE VISITS FLORENCE (3/5) [Page 5-8]

Smoke flicks his cigarette into the pool.
Florence is confused for a moment, before they look back and see smoke taking off his sweater. Smugly, he says "Don't look so surprised. I was going slow for you, then you complained."

Florence looks away to hide their flushed cheeks.
Smoke sits next to them and places a paw on their upper shoulder. "Man, if you're not gonna stare, i really wasted my cig."

Anger brought to a boiling point, Florence lashes out at smoke, their hand passing through them and dispersing the smog as it swishes and swooshes around. They yell, "We both know you're smoke. You leave whenever you want! You leave me here- alone! I wish- I wish you wouldn't come back!"

Smoke re-condenses, leaving their pants behind as their wisps float to the other side of Florence. Florence cries softly, "How can i hate you so much - but still need you?"
Smoke fully reforms and grabs their snout with a wispy paw. They smile smugly, "Sounds like you've got a bad habit, Florence."

🌊 SMOKE VISITS FLORENCE (2/5) [Page 1-4]

Smoke climbs a chain link fence. A sign says "Pool Hours - Mon-fri - CLOSED".
Florence peers up at him from the edge of their pool, three of their four hands clutching the edge.

Smoke lights a cigarette while standing over Florence. They take a drag and say "You look lonely". Florence scowls in response.

Florence pulls themselves out of the water with their many arms. They sit on the edge, and say "You'd be lonely too, if you were stuck like me."

Smoke thinks, taking a drag of their cigarette. They exhale, and say "You know you're choosing to wallow-"
Florence interrupts, pissed off, "You don't look cooler taking a drag before talking."

☁️ SMOKE VISITS FLORENCE (1/5) [Cover & Back Cover]

The front cover of Smoke Visits Florence. Smoke and Florence embrace in a pool, kissing. The pool edge and the chainlink fence curves upwards as if by a fishbowl lens.
This comic is intended for adult audiences [18+].

The back cover of the comic.
The summary reads: "Florence is a sea monster trapped in a condemned community pool. Smoke is an ethereal vagabond, drifting from lover to lover, unattached. This affair is an allegory. Both are one of my fursonas. They represent my internal dialogue on self-love, acceptance of cylces, attachment, and loneliness."

Track & Field (2/2) A zine about homoeroticism in sports.

Barley sits completely nude on the rubber track—except for his running shoes.
Text:
"Varsity knew every muddy path
through the back 40's...
their shoes wearin' out
at the heels
slipped off—left by
the creekbed—
half-hard in cold water,
& i'm shaking, numb,
frozen like a photo
as i watch them
kiss from the
treeline."
(the word "kiss" is crossed out.)

Back cover. Barley's back is to the camera. His bug wings are spread out & opened.
Text:
"When will
I get what
I want?

When the cubes
all melt &
i'm left behind—
alone on the
Track
&
Field."

Track & Field (1/2) A zine about homoeroticism in sports.

Cover page. Barley looks up to the sky, where the title "Track & Field" is written in the clouds.

Pages 1 & 2. On the left, Barley stands in ice water. On the right, he leans on a leg which appears to be his own, as if doing a partner stretch.
Text reads: "I wanted the
boys thigh-deep in icewater,
a hands-on partner stretch,
some cross country romance
made of dead grass
or red rubber."

Pages 3 & 4. A procession of frames of Barley's foot landing from a step and kicking off the ground descends across the page. On the right, he sweats as he jogs through a field with powerlines. His bug wings flap quickly.
Text:
"i was Jealous of
bow the wind touched
every reed in the field—

I dreamed
a faster boy
passed me
and turned—
Jogging backwards—
pulled down his
spandex band—
to flaunt the forest
at the base of his
mountain."
