I feel like if there's something beyond retro, it makes sense to have something after it, before we get to the newest thing y'know. For me retro always followed by modern and contemporary periods of gaming. After all we're still living in an era of gaming kick-started by a PS3 game (Destiny)

There are Switch 1 USB-C joy-con alternatives that have the same issues because they're recognised as pro controllers. Something like Splatoon was pretty much impossible to play with them because of this. I hope in future updates there will be option to pick and choose games for Boost Mode

Went through their replies on Twitter so I'm a bit hopeful now, but I find it strange that they never officially responded with a proper post about save corruption after telling people that there won't be any patches in the support. I would spend so much more time on Nintendo Classics apps if you could disable them. They're especially annoying with OLED Switch because of how bright they are + additional stress over the screen life.

Tbf the screen size on the right is identical to what it will be in Castlevania Collection if you turn the Pixel Perfect option on. I assume game here runs at 1440x960 which would be 6x integer scaling of original GBA resolution, so it's not about the borders (I still hate them tho...)

People don't usually mean it in this way, but Dragon Quest VII Reimagined might actually be the first ever remake that truly looks "soulless". Like if I have to point my finger on someone who has no soul, the MC here is exactly the reference I have in my head.

Am I looking too much into it or does this Anthem mention feels tad passive aggressive? Even though Casey was the one pitching the game in a way executives wanted to hear, he wasn't director on it and only spend a pretty short time as an executive producer.

We used to call any release like this a "Definitive Edition" and Berseria definitely deserves one (especially since it's not on Switch), but there's nothing remastered about this one I'm also annoyed by this because the term "Remaster" is already ruined for many people and this makes things worse

That said I still really want a proper Bloodlines successor and I understand why so many people are mad about this game not being that. As someone who pre-ordered it day one all the way back in 2019 it's definitely not what I expected back then.

Played a few hours of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 and honestly tech stuff aside it's a pretty decent game, especially if you don't expect it to be anything like the first one. It won't scratch the same itch as VTMB, but I think I'll enjoy it overall

I'm already very pessimistic about the global adoption of Unreal Engine, as I think it's being used as a way to devalue the long-term employees of companies that previously worked with proprietary engines by making them easily replaceable, but the performance analysis videos certainly aren't helping

If I had to guess they're targeting erotic games that use disclaimers how "it's all a roleplay and everyone in this story is 18+" while characters are obviously meant to be minors. And I don't even think it's a bad idea, but it's so poorly written I doubt it'll be used for anything good

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 at its concept feels a lot like a Monolith Soft game. Only a couple of hours in, but it really reminds me of Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The whole Gommage thing even sounds like something straight from that world. Really excited to see more of this game.

Oblivion Remaster is pretty good so far, feels like a huge graphical modpack you would see for Skyrim, bad UI and all. There are some weird graphical problems (mostly with reflections), but overall it's a really nice upgrade and I hope it makes more people check out one of my favourite games.

Eh, we get plenty of games using patents of big companies and this rarely leads anywhere. I still think that the main reason we don't see similar systems is bc they fit really small amount of games and add nothing but dev time Even its creators seemingly had troubles implementing it in the WW game

Always had mixed feelings about Octopath games, they look nice and I see them being praised all the time, but for me character/companion interactions are one of the most important aspects in JRPGs and when it comes to this OT2 is nowhere near something like Chrono Trigger which is a shame..
