did I post this one? I should look but oh well. it was not only in a show recently, it's also been accepted for publication in a local journal! I'll post more about that when it comes out #gayart #queerart #watercolor #gayartist #queerartist #gayartwork

gave myself a paper cut handing books to the checkout librarian and all I could think was "oh god don't let me bleed on the books" it was not a bad cut and I didn't bleed on the books, somehow

didn't finish a string of new and underwhelming novels, but Shannon Chakraborty's second Amina al-Sirafi adventure, Tapestry of Fate, was such a good, fun adventure. plus some great recs at the end for the history of textiles and women's work etc. and I adore those kind of recs!

experimented a little over the weekend. there are parts of this I really like and I learned what I'd like to do next time in this style. yes he has four arms. not forearms, four arms. well, forearms too. four forearms. #gayart #queerart #watercolor #gayartist #queerartist #gayartwork

monochromatic watercolor of a seated nude man with four arms. the painting is split between white and black for its background, which match the lightest lights and the deepest darks on the body.

I used a reference photo from @lil-redd-fox.bsky.social for this painting, which was hot (duh) but also gave me some good invite-the-viewer-in context, and I'd like to do more of that (there's also the "buoyancy" painting recently, but -- more!)

chose to do a painting based on this photo by @niceyhott.bsky.social not bc it's his nicest or most hot (nothing against it), but bc I had a physical coming up, am almost 40, and wanted to bring up the possibility of a colonoscopy. and arting it made it less scary! wild, eh? bsky.app/profile/nice...

and now for something completely different...! I'm really excited about the new Ocarina of Time and I've been playing through Breath of the Wild again, so I've been doing some Zelda paintings. love love the end scene in Ocarina, esp the sages! #art #painting #watercolor #tloz #oot

watercolor based on the end scene of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, in which the five sages are overlooking Hyrule. each sage is depicted in their standard color (Impa is violet, Saria is green, Darunia is red, Nabooru is orange, and Ruto is blue).
