Kinda sucks that AI vibe coding has JUSTIFIED the indie dev fear of your game idea being stolen by someone else. AI shovelware will absolutely NOT be as good as the original vision and execution (simply because one is driven by passion and the other is careless greed), but it’s still a violation.

I’m reading a book on this rn by Cory Doctorow, and he describes this phenomenon as becoming “a reverse centaur”. The idea being that a centaur is a person who uses technology to empower themselves and increase their ability. While a reverse centaur is a person who is BEING USED by technology.

…but I don’t have the money to buy every book I want new, & I love supporting the library system. (Plus having a return date helps me with actually getting around to reading). So what I do instead to “keep” my book collection is I make a little themed bookmark for every book I read as a memento.

The priority is to boil everything down to be as simple (useless) as possible. I wish for systems that let you rate on specific aspects, thus increasing filter options. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ story ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ gameplay ⭐️ level design When developers update they could tick which category got work, & indicate it to users.

The guy tried to argue with me over the street parked cars in the parking lane because this guy mistakenly believed the parking lane WAS the bike lane. The actual bike lane was clearly marked and unobstructed, but the guy had gotten the E-bike that week & did not know the rules of the road.

I’ve been hit by an e-bike while backing out of my driveway (luckily he was not injured but my car has a huge dent from his thick wheel) he was going way too fast on the sidewalk when the bike lane was just 10ft to his left. We would have avoided the collision if he just used the proper lane.

It’s not about actual safety, it’s about comfort and style. Tbh they sound like my father in-law who refuses to wear a seatbelt because he thinks his life is an action movie and he needs to move quickly. When asked about being ejected in a crash, he said he would just “hold the steering wheel.” Smh.
