For Pokemon in Gen 3 it has been discovered that the GBA can trade wirelessly with the switch ports of FRLG with certain software to bridge the gap and translate the communication signals, but anything gen 4 and up is currently off the table

I might actually do a video about this. I have an autism diagnosis now, they picked a really bad time to do a subpar reboot of one of my childhood obsessions.

This booster box was so bad I actually feel like I got scammed. I don't just mean I had bad pull luck, the amount of duplicate packs (not just individual cards, whole PACKS) I opened and the individual card quality is genuinely unacceptable for the pricetag of a modern collectible tcg

Will this response be read or internalised by any of these mass AI mailers? Probably not, but it was fun to set up and it will give me a sense of satisfaction knowing I have a little virtual robot of my own that can let AI companies know on no uncertain terms that I'm not interested.

Screw it, I put my usual 3am productive energy to good use and learned how to set up an automated gmail filter that will scan any incoming email for the phrase AI/Artificial Intelligence, and then send a pre-written automated response telling them i'm not interested in their slop.

I even put a "no AI" clause on my description earlier this month cause I was getting sick of it but I don't think it makes a difference. A bot is still gonna scrape it just so a company with a name like Swongl.AI can beg me to make a dedicated video promoting their "AI-powered" scam app slop

Whenever I have to use Pokemon anime clips in vids I always hit em with the Horizontal flip and a slight colour value change for good measure, that pretty much always works to avoid the most litigous of autocopyright triggers.

When I first got to play the Pokopia demo at EUIC I spent like 70% of my session time just spinning in circles because the first time I did it I got the random Spinda face easter egg and I couldn't figure out why it happened the first time and then never showed up again

And the last one I had to custom-make an english representation of because the original one was only ever released in Japan, but i wanted to keep the same shape/design in case anyone happened to know the game and recognise it from those elements.

Butt Level Ontario is probably the cleanest one I made, Battle Revolution's logo made it pretty easy to switch the letters around with minimal cleanup

I've had a few people ask for the logos I used in one of these questions so here they are:

I think a later clarification stated it'd be LGPE style (so we should be able to deposit and withdraw between gen 3 games until they visit another generation) and I hope that's the case. If not, then ideally I hope we get the option of going to SWSH-SV and it doesn't just lock them into ZA onward.

Currently about to miss my self-appointed bedtime in Sleep because if I stay up longer I can get a few more berries and hit Master 20 in Expert Mode for the first time, and i'm starting to question if maybe i've lost sight of this game's true purpose.

Kinda don't want to spoil it for the inevitable video it'll be part of but today while starting EV training for another shiny I caught today, I hit a new personal record for shortest 8192 shiny encounter (which is crazy because my last one was 24)

I drew this jokingly last week after seeing the episode synopsis was "Navi & Ogerpon" - Kieran hasn't been formally introduced in Horizons yet aside from a cameo in the BB Academy but I just saw the Next Time preview and there's a Hydrapple in it, so this might genuinely be the episode's plot

090

CannedWolfMeat @cannedwolfmeat.standingintheodds.com · 23/09/2026

Next episode of Pokemon Horizons is going back to Kitakami again and my biggest hope is that we get to see full-angst Kieran beefing with a little girl over being friends with Ogerpon

The existance of junctions that work like that is crazy to me, in the Uk this would just be a roundabout.

I went digging for 2011-era forum posts and articles to cite for my video on Gen 5 when bringing up this topic. Most Pokemon games have had some amount of critique around launch but it really cannot be understated how widespread and mainstream it was to hate on Black/White and Unova's Pokedex.

There were also two exclusive cards apparently given out at Comicon in San Diego of all places, I thought having a collection of something fairly niche and discontinued was supposed to be easy :(

CannedWolfMeat @cannedwolfmeat.standingintheodds.com · 19/09/2026

Ok turns out this new Dr Who set has 2 uber-rare chase cards in it and this is what they're currently selling for. As cool as it is to see a new expansion for the 2006 tcg I loved as a kid, it mega sucks that I can't say I have a complete set anymore.

CannedWolfMeat @cannedwolfmeat.standingintheodds.com · 18/09/2026

Also learned from another player that the obscure dr who tcg I collected as a kid in ~2008 suddenly has a new expansion so I guess I'm just spending all my money on cardboard this month

I got formally diagnosed with autism last week. While it didn't come as a huge shock to me or anything, so far every single person I've told about it has been surprised - but only because they assumed I was already diagnosed.

I liked these two, they had some genuinely devious battle synergies and their commitment to pairing Pokemon with Red and Blue forms together was fun. I like the implicaiton that they had to hunt down a shiny in order to justify having an Electrode explosion gambit up their sleeves.

CannedWolfMeat @cannedwolfmeat.standingintheodds.com · 14/09/2026

I'm still cautiously skeptical of the future of Horizons now that the overarching Rakurium/Explorers plot has finished, but at least this whacky hijinks season has had some entertaining premises so far - the most recent episode was completely deranged.

Fusion is SO good, I got it thanks to the 3DS Ambassador program and I played the hell out of it. "Dread" is ironically the best way to describe Fusion any time the SA-X shows up.

The casual side of the Pokopia fanbase is unsurprisingly much more welcoming of Skitty and Braixen than the Casual TCG Pocket fanbase was when the Ultra Beasts got added.

It's always interesting to look at the reactions to new Pokemon being added in spin-off titles because sometimes you find casual fans who are seeing these Pokemon for the very first time.
