While @rich.lafferty.ca was at #KidicalMassHfx this morning, I took my bike to go get groceries! Another successful shop not involving our car. Yay bikes! Also, decided my bike helmet was far too boring so stuck on this sticker I got from @falseknees.bsky.social 😁

Voilà, my tea haul from World Tea House! Currently brewing up some Chamomile Mint for iced tea, given we appear to now be in summer heat. Well, except for tomorrow apparently.

Big big thank you to everyone who helped me in my research on e-bikes (original post below). We bought this lovely from Cyclesmith Dartmouth today! Still deciding on a name, obviously she needs a fun name! Shout out to @envirojen.bsky.social for recommending the Townie as an option!

Gardening friends! Does anyone know what the D and the B on the Sutton's seed packages mean? Not all have it (the Tithonia I bought don't!) but most do. I have tried googling it and searching Sutton's website, but still can't figure it out.

All that snow is pretty heavy! Those trees between us and our neighbour are about 20ft tall but are pushed down much lower. And poor birds! We'll clean off the feeder tomorrow once the snow completely stops. #HaliSky

A very white and snowy photo! You can see many branches of trees that are weighed down by a lot of snow that is sticking to the branches. In the background you can see the flat roof of the next house, which is also covered in snow.

Small Batch Bakery (100% gluten free with dairy free and vegan options) made my birthday cake and it is beautiful! @rich.lafferty.ca just told her to go with chocolate orange flavour with purple decorations but otherwise her choice, and wow! Hard to tell in the photos but the icing sparkles!

Bonne Maman Jamvent Day 11: Pineapple Rum with Vanilla. We both really liked this one - honestly it mostly tastes like rum. I'm not a drinker but I do like the taste of rum! Guess that's why I like my fruitcake haha.

Bonne Maman Jamvent Days 9 and 10! So, because yesterday was my birthday and Day 9 was a caramel (which I can't eat), we ate Day 10 yesterday and Day 9 today. Day 9 is a Madagascar Vanilla Caramel. Day 10 is Blueberry Lychee Rose jam. I really loved the jam but I like floral flavours in things.

Bonne Maman Day 2! We have Fig and Cardamom today. It was delicious. Also including a photo of the box for day 1 since I didn't capture that yesterday. I love the whimsical designs.

Although! We also use 'Bleuets Sauvage' (literally Wild Blueberries) on labels! So language is fun that way.

Today's yummy selection: Wild Blueberry Jam with Maple. Also, today we learned that Blueberry has two words in French! Both @rich.lafferty.ca and I learned it as Bleuets, but in France they only use myrtille, in Quebec wild ones are usually myrtille, cultivated ones (the big high bush) are bleuets.

Ours are doing their typical morning routine, although both got up from their loafing position to say hello to me when I came up to them, haha. Stacey (the darker one) was in a sunbeam on the rug in @rich.lafferty.ca's home office, and Stella was on the grey door mat at our back door, her fave spot.

Things I have made with this year's tomato harvest: Canning: Tomato sauce, salsa Meals: Several salads, tomato galette, tomato soup, pizza x2 (tomatoes on pesto, then homemade sauce), chili I've also frozen two large freezer bags worth to use over the winter. Good year even with the drought!

A white plate with a fork and a nicely browned pastry on top of it. The pastry has a thin layer of beige/white stuff on it (that's a tofu ricotta), plus multiple chunks of bright red tomatoes on top of that.
