Our syn-leth specialist, @maryjfmy.bsky.social, has presented their work in the EACR congress and in the I Jornada de Biologia del Càncer. Thanks for approaching their poster on predicting epigenetic synthetic lethality interactions in GI cancers using multi omics data and machine learning.

An analysis of exposome traits in patients with early-onset colorectal cancer (CRC) compared with late-onset CRC based on epigenetic markers shows that pesticide usage, particularly picloram, is associated with early-onset CRC, according to a paper in Nature Medicine. go.nature.com/3QqH80c 🧪
This is figure 3, which shows a higher picloram MRS is associated with EOCRC.

NEW 📄! Our last Nature Medicine paper, led by @silvanamaas.bsky.social and @seoaneja.bsky.social , identifies picloram (herbicide) as a novel risk factor on early-onset colorectal cancer ( #eoCRC), while confirming well-known risk factors. www.nature.com/articles/s41.... #exposome #epigenetics +

Epigenetic fingerprints link early-onset colon and rectal cancer to pesticide exposure - Nature Medicine
An analysis of exposome traits in patients with early-onset colorectal cancer (CRC) (<50 years) compared with late-onset CRC (≥70 years) based on epigenetic markers shows that pesticide usage, in p...

What makes HR+ breast cancer tumors immune-cold? New work shows how ER signaling hijacks LCOR, suppressing tumor immunogenicity. Our PI @seoaneja.bsky.social participates on this study led by @tceliaterrassa.bsky.social, uncovering a target to sensitize tumors to ICB. www.jci.org/articles/vie...

Thread: Multi-omics sounds cool—until you actually try it. Here's are the nuances. 1/ You’ve got RNA-seq. Methylation. Proteomics. Time to “integrate” the data. But how? And why? Let’s break it down.

From asking a recipe to chatGPT to predicting the best treatment for a patient with AI there is a small step! That is what we showed in this workshop for the elderly. We finished debunking some myths and a deep discussion, showing we shouldn't leave anyone out of the equation!
