While we had fewer sunflowers than we wanted this year, we are always happy to have provided anything bees like. #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork 🌻🐝
A bee (assumingly collecting pollen) is visible in the center of a bright yellow sunflower.

This photo was taken at Campbell’s Cove Campground in Prince Edward Island, Canada in September of 2026.

A majestic blue heron trying to have supper. #birdwatching
A Great Blue Heron stands at the edge of where bluish-grey waters meet tall green grass. Assumingly, it was enjoying an evening fishing trip before someone with a zoom lens starting perceiving it.

How do you make friends? Is it also by using books to ask outlandish hypothetical questions? So far, 7-year-olds have given the funniest responses..... but to be fair, we've not yet asked any questions to any 106-year-olds. ( Thanks, @herring1967.bsky.social )
A book stands on a red post at a campground. Behind it, several empty green grass tent sites are waiting for campers to arrive and sit at the picnic tables. Beyond the sites is a horizon where light blue skies meet dark blue waters.
The background of the book is yellow. Red capital letters spell "RICHARD HERRING'S" across the top and blue capital letters beneath it read "WOULD YOU RATHER?" Smaller red letters across the bottom of the cover say "FOR ANYONE AGED 6 TO 106"

Camping is so much better with a beachwalk. Especially during the golden hour. #reflections
A golden yellow sun in the top left of the picture radiates yellow rays just above a chunk of land that sticks out in the ocean. The rays are reflected in the water below the land. Waves can be seen lapping against sand. The ocean stretches into the horizon, where it meets a light blue sky with wispy white clouds and hues of orange at the bottom as the sun is beginning to set. This photo was taken at Campbell’s Cove Campground in Prince Edward Island, Canada, on June 22, 2026.

Some people say 'any port in a storm' while others say 'any shelter from the north winds' and that's how you can tell who lives on the northside of PEI. #OctopusGarden ....hopefully.
Standing at the passenger door looking into a vehicle, 2 trays of dirt sit in the front. One on the driver's seat and one on the passenger seat. Hopefully, sunflowers will sprout any moment now as the windshield faces south, and the sunroof lets in high noon sun, keeping things bright and a touch warmer than being outside where the wind is. This photo was taken at Campbell’s Cove Campground in Prince Edward Island, Canada, on June 3, 2026. (It is clear by the red clay dust on the passenger seat that this isn't the first time dirt was brought inside this vehicle.)

A ruby throated hummingbird sits on the edge of a deck railing. About 1 foot to the side, a hummingbird feeder sits on the same deck railing. (There are no other birds in the photo.) On the grass just beyond the deck, you can see a bag of soil and a round mat. Pat that is the pavement of the driveway. Inside the railing, there is a bench. This photo was taken in the staff corner at Campbell’s Cove Campground in Prince Edward Island, Canada where we love birdwatching.

Sometimes, you need to start your day listening to a Crash Test Dummies CD. #MusicSky P.S. Superman also never made any money, so we're in good company.
"The Best Of Crash Test Dummies Collection" CD case.
Cover photo: 5 people sitting on a couch, wearing very shiny black shoes against a red & black leafy carpet that would very likely only be found in the 90s. There appears to be a collection of table lamps behind them, but its blurry, so who knows.

It is almost "pretend you're fast enough to get a photo of an eagle" season! 🦅 #birdwatching #skywatching #CampingLife
A mid-afternoon blue sky with wispy clouds and the silhouette of a soaring juvenile bald eagle. The edges of the outstretched wings are finger-like. It is barely close enough to identify and too far away for any clear details or colorings, other than being able to tell his head is not yet white.
Photo was taken in October 2025 at Campbell’s Cove Campground in Prince Edward Island, Canada.

We made this blanket. (C2C crochet.) We will be giving it away. (As a draw.) Anyone who has booked their campsite by May 19, 2026 will have their name put in a draw we will make on May 20, 2026. Full details will be on our website next week. (Please take this blanket away. Sooo much frogging. 🤦‍♀️😆🧶)
A crocheted blanket is spread out on a hardwood floor.
The background of the blanket is green representing grass at the bottom. Above that is beige ("sand") which turns wavily into dark blue ("water") which turns into light blue ("sky"). They sky has 4 different clouds as well as a yellow round sun in the top right corner.
The words Campbell’s Cove Campground are in large black letters in the sky and ocean. "P.E.I." is in smaller black letters across the green grass along the bottom.

Please don't be fooled by this freshly-wiped keyboard. It is a vessel to The Land of Links, where old hits like "Haven't I been here already?" and "This isn't what I asked for" are seamlessly blended with the new but increasingly-popular, "What in the fresh dung is this AI disaster?"
A black keyboard sits on a light beiges desk. There are 2 highlighters (1 yellow, 1 pink) against the right side of the keyboard. There is a black pen below the keybord, cut off by the bottom of the photo. The side of a clear plastic dish of rubber bands and paperclips is barely visible at the top left.

While we love the ferry and are so confident it is our favorite part of traveling while on it, bookstores hold a very close second place in our hearts. #thalassophile #hodophile #bibliophile #logophile #desiderosmia #EploreNS @kingsbookstore.bsky.social
A bright sun shines in a light blue sky over the top of the ferry where the crew steers/operates from. The floor of the ferry is green. There are 4 white seats (benches back-to-back) visible, creating what seems like a green path to the door that leads you indoors. Shadows are heavy on the floor by the benches, as the sun is casting such highlights.A King's Co-Op Bookstore sticker sits on the top left corner of a black and gold hardcover book.

The sticker is a white background with a pile of multicolored books jammed into a green bridge. The words 'King's Co-Op Bookstore' are written below the bridge in blue lettering.

The book is black with a starry night depicted in gold color. There is a waterway on the bottom with rocky terrain on each side and a sailboat (of seemingly bygone days) floats in it. Above is a blank black space and then the night sky made up of varying sized dots giving the illusion of looking at constellations and the Milky Way. The title of the book - "THE DICTIONARY OF OBSCURE SORROWS" - is written in gold letters in the middle of the sky. The author's name -"JOHN KOENIG" - is also in gold upper case letters and has a box around it.

When you feel like you're being watched......
A juvenile bald eagle sits atop a telephone pole with wires extending from the pole to the top right corner of the photo. Not yet old enough to have a white "bald" head, this eagle is brown and white with massive yellow talons, one of which is very visible on the side of the pole. The sky behind is a solid, cloudless blue. (The eagle's visible eye is clearly aware of the human watching it from the ground.) We love a good sunflower, especially when PEI was so lacking in rainfall this summer. Surviving is inspiring. #BloomScrolling #ThrivingThursday #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork
A sunflower with a brown center and long petals of redish yellow stands taller than the row of sunflowers behind it. The background sunflowers are yellow petals with dark yellow centers. They are mixed in amongst green leaves and greenish brown stalks. It is clear the sunflowers survived in spite of next to no rainfall during the summer.

A green bell pepper hangs (precariously close to the ground) from its plant. The plant is green stalks and green leaves with a few off-white closed up blooms that we hope will turn into more peppers. The dirt is redish brown and desperately dry. So much so you can see it cracking.

Look at all the little fuzzies!
An adult red fox is nose to nose with one of her fuzzy dark grey babies (AKA kits or pups). There are 3 more chubby babies a foot or so to the left, mostly in the shade of a picnic table. More to the left, on the other side of the picnic table sit 2 more littles bringing the total to 6 kits. They are in front of a tan colored building with an orange board over a window from winter prep. In the background is a tree root, long yellowed grass and dark blue waters.
This photo was taken with a zoom lens to not disturb the foxes, at Campbell's Cove Campground in PEI, Canada.

A bunch of sunflowers:

A big, fully-open sunflower with a dark brown center and long, yellow petals (waving slightly from the wind) is I'm the top left corner.

The top right corner has a slightly smaller sunflower head, where the yellow petals around the outside are not fully outstretched yet.

The bottom right corner has a small sunflower head, completely closed. The yellow petals are still hugging the center tightly.

There are green leaves and stalks through the middle and bottom left of the photo. Some shadows of the leaves are on the building in the background.

The Scout might be the coolest old book in the Mooney household. An antique even. There used to be a magazine called The Scout, and this book is a compilation of every issue from 1925. 1925. AKA 100 years ago. #BookSky 📚 #20DayBookChallenge
A red hardcover book called "THE SCOUT" with a pencil-style drawing of (what one can assume to be) a Scout.

He is wearing a neck scarf, a long sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up (possibly the universal sign of a man who is working?), a belt around the shirt, knee-length shorts, socks pulled up to below his knees and shoes.

One hand holds a wide-brimmed hat down by his waist, while the other hand holds a flag high above his head. The flag image is blurry but it is safe to assume it is the Boy Scouts logo. The spine of a book called "THE SCOUT" has a red background and is worn and wrinkled and ripped.

It reads "FOUNDED BY SIR ROBERT BAYDEN-POWELL" and has a picture (sketch) of a man wearing a wide-brimmed hat, a long sleeved shirt, shorts and maybe a backpack. He appears to have one foot on each side of a point. (As if he's straddling a mountain top.)

Below the photo it says "ANNUAL VOLUME 1926" and finally "RYERSON PRESS" in small letters at the very bottom of the spine.A picture of the top of a couple of pages in a book called 'THE SCOUT' which is a year's collection of Scout magazines.

The banner on the top of a yellowing page reads, "In Quest of the Singing Wave. A thrilling tale of a search for a mysterious wave." The date on the top margin of the page says September 26, 1925.A little sample of the material from 1925:

Two men, about to fight a duel, met at the railway station en route for the appointed field.
The first man asked for a return ticket, but the second man only took a single.
"Ha! You fear you will never come back! I always take a return," said the former.
"I never do," retorted his adversary calmly. "I always take my return half from the dead man!"

Probably the best part about an entire family partaking in a #20DayBookChallenge challenge is when the dad gets out his old Scouts/Brownies book collection. Farmer Charlie was a Scout leader in the mid 80s, loves old things, and doesn't wear ties. Guess what he got for holidays? #BookSky
A yellow paperback with green letters spelling "THE WOLF CUB'S HANDBOOK" across the tip of the cover.

On the bottom right there is a sketch (in green) of what we assume to be a wolf cub. To the left of the drawing, small green letters read "BY LORD BAYDEN-POWELL OF GILWELL."A worn paperback with a green edge. Inside the green frame is a picture of people outside. There is a person by a tree on a cliff on the left hand side, looking down to the valley and beach area below.

There are people playing Frisbee in the middle, on green grass, between the cliff to the left and the beach to the back right.

There is an orange tent and a red tent pitched on the beach. People are sitting on logs around a campfire.

At the top of the cover there are white letters outlined in thin red spelling "THE CUB BOOK"Green grass and blue sky make up the background of this book. "the brownie handbook" is written in lower case brown lettering on the bottom of the book, over the grass.

There is a toadstool mushroom in the middle of the cover with an owl sitting on it. 2 white girls in brown matching Brownie uniforms that are long sleeved but with a skirt to the knees, brown socks pulled up to just below their knees and wearing brown hats are mid-jump over the mushroom.

The 2 brownies are holding the hands of 3 pixies or fairies. One is dressed in a green outfit, one in a blue outfit and one in a yellow outfit.

Everyone is smiling. They don't even seem aware that Boy Scouts books had titles in all upper case letters, but Brownies get books with all lower case letters.

The image is Hobbes, a cartoon tiger, and Calvin, a white kid with blonde spikey hair, in mid-air in a doorway. The door appears to have been flung open. Hobbes looks excited and happy while Calvin appears to be in a bit more panic.

There are books, papers, and Calvin's shoes in mid-air as well, suggesting Hobbes may have tackled Calvin while he was carrying and/or wearing those things.

There is a little green bush on either side of the steps that Calvin and Hobbes are in the air above. The background has a large tree.

An oversized paperback with a background of vibrant colors fading into each other softly. (From top to bottom, it's orange into yellow into green into blue into purple into pink.)

'MAD' is written across the top in red and black letters (as in MAD Magazine), and 'ABOUT THE SIXTIES' is below in grey puffy lettering that resembles puffs of smoke.

There is a cartoon white man with shaggy brown hair and a flower tucked over each ear. (It is Alfred E. Neuman, the MAD Magazine's mascot.) He has a green tunic (presumably - it only shows his shoulders and up, but there is a tall collar and no buttons down the front of his chest) and 3 sets of beads. Alfred has a 4th necklace sporting a bell hanging from what appear to be small animal bones (or maybe large animal teeth) strung with a bead between each.

Alfred has a sad little goatee and a hoop earing in his right earlobe. There is a red hippie-style flower drawn onto his cheek, and his eyes wouldn't be described as sober.

Just over Alfred E. Neuman's shoulder, on the right of the book, BY "THE USUAL GANG OF IDIOTS" is written in thick yellow lettering as author credit.

There is a tree drawn so that we see the plentiful leaves up top and the gripping roots down below. The trunk is light brown with colors flowing through from the roots to the leaves. The yellow sun is visible behind the tree (through the leaves) as well as a few wee birds.

The leaves are red, blue, orange and gold, and the following words woven amongst the leaves: PLODGE, LULLABYE, CHORTLE, ELIXIR, AURORA, BELLYCHEER, RESPAIR, MEANDER, CHARM, RUTH, CONKER.

Overtop the leaves, "ROOTS of HAPPINESS" is written in large green letters with gold trim and "100 WORDS FOR JOY AND HOPE" is in smaller blue letters beneath it.

It's possible that in August there will be a watermelon growing on this plant. When the temperature is much warmer, and the plant is much bigger and stronger, it will get moved to the garden at Campbell’s Cove Campground in Prince Edward Island, Canada.

A wrinkled, well-read children's paperback.
The title is on the top; the series name "The Magic School Bus" in yellow bubbly letters, and "ON THE OCEAN FLOOR" in white bold letters.

Below the title, "By Joanna Cole
Illustrated by Bruce Degen" is written in thinner white letters.

The background is blue, because as the title suggest, it's the ocean floor. There is coral on the bottom of the cover, and a couple fish swimming above it.

There is a yellow schoolbus that has a fin on the back. The teacher (Ms. Frizzel) is wearing flippers, and an oxygen tank, snorkeling in the foreground. A piece behind is one of the kids from the class, also wearing an oxygen tank, swimming goggles and flippers.

The very bottom of the cover has a red square that says "Scholastic" as in, this came from a book fair. (Remember book fairs? Possibly the best thing to happen in an elementary school that didn't have a school bus that transforms into a submarine.)

"Truth doesn't live in a book, you find it in the little surprises The Good Book is only a lens to focus the view "Justice for all" is composed of the ugliest compromises You can't only look at the lens, you gotta look through" -Ben Caplan #TuesdayTunes #MusicSky
The cover of a CD by Ben Caplan called Old Stock.

It is in sepia and pictures a crowd of people on the top deck of a boat. (Ship? Not sure we know the difference between a boat and a ship...)

A grey hardcover book with tall, thin silhouettes of trees. The tops of the trees have silhouettes of (probably) butterflies emerging from the leaves. There is a yellow section about 2/3 of the way up the trees that indicates sunlight.

On the tops of the trees, in yellow lettering is the book title "THE HOBBIT".

Beneath the trees, at the very bottom of the cover is the author's name "J.R.R. TOLKIEN" in yellow lettering.

A paperback book shows a stone path leading into a forest.

The stones go from the bottom of the cover into the middle, where there is an overwhelming bright light that prevents further images. It feels rather magical.

On the right, you can see trees that reach up and meet trees (from the other side of the stone path) at the top like a canopy. These trees make up the forest, even though you can't see details past the shining light.

There are white letters on the bottom right that read the title "Elora of Stone" and below that "The Legend of Rhyme Series" and finally, the last like has the author's name "JAIME LEE MANN".

This is the first book in The Legend of Rhyme series that Jaime Lee Mann wrote (right here in Prince Edward Island, Canada.)

A very loved paperback with frayed edges.

The author's name, Roald Dahl" appears across the top in yellow letters.

The book name "Matilda" is below that in larger red letters.

There is a little girl with shoulder-length brown hair and a little smirk taking up most of the bottom of the cover. (It is actress Mara Wilson, from the 1996 movie adaptation of Matilda.)

In the background of the cover are other characters from the movie. (Danny Devito and Rhea Pearlman as Matilda's parents. Miss Honey, Miss Trunchbull, and a kid from class.)

Grow little plants, grow! 🌱🍅 #OctopusGarden2025 #ThrivingThursday
Very thin brown stems stick up (about .5 inches) from round dirt pods. There are 2 wee green leaves on each stem.

They are hopefully gonna grow into cherry tomatoes. In spring, they will be transplanted into the garden at Campbell’s Cove Campground in PEI, Canada.

The Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch, art by Michael Martchenko

A little girl, covered in dust and wearing a paper bag, stands at a giant open door to a cave. There is a dragon's head, looking tired, poking in the doorway. The rest of the dragon's body past the red and white bandana on its neck is not visible.
