hitman codename 47 isn't a very great game but there's something about it that has me keep coming back to it occasionally. maybe it's the music, or its weird vibe, or the cool tech you wouldn't see in other games from its era (ragdolls, dynamic shadows, IK), or maybe it's all of these lol

it actually annoys us how often "games as art" focuses entirely on story and not things the design and gameplay itself is doing. Not to say plot can't be an important part of the puzzle, but we think other parts get underappreciated as part of the overall recipe

yeah id love to work on a project with my friends but all of them have their own stuff to do and even with despecholia which i was making with my wife, she got burnt out on a lot of things so ive mostly been doing it solo for the past few months and i haven't been able to work on it at all lately :/

yeah, while i am curious to see how nightdive could continue sin (i think they talked about doing that if reloaded went well), i struggle to think of how they'd actually do that in a way that doesn't feel weird and forced, oh and also atari sucks ass and they'd probably fuck it up somehow too

the restrictions made it feel like a weird hl2 mod complete with its own alyx knockoff, blade doesn't even talk in this one which i feel like his banter with jc in the original game was one of the better parts of it and that's just gone here

emergence is so cool but it was seriously hampered by the publisher requesting it be more like hl2 apparently they were to do more unique stuff in next episodes but then ritual died :/

there's also an early version of vertigo that was much closer to the 1.6 version, a scrapped remake of vostok from cz, and an early version of sugarcane (that was closer to the original l4d2 mill map) and they're such a vibe i LOVE how these versions look
