I'm thinking that the great mystery of "what kind of plant is this" can reasonably be assumed to be solved. I'm pretty certain that these are scotch bonnets. Looking forward to all the others still on the plant that are still ripening.

I've had this ferment going for 15 days now and I don't want to turn it into hot sauce yet but the brine tastes amazing and I kinda want to process it early just so I can drink the brine. Totally normal behavior imho

An in progress ferment in a mason jar waiting to be turned into hot sauce. The recipe is as follows: 158g chile de arbol, 19g garlic, 95g yellow onion, 423g water, 28g salt.

Really happy with the progress of this plant that I initially kept growing as a sacrificial plant for my cats to nibble on. Had I known it was potentially a super hot variety (still don't know for sure what it is) I might have offered up one of my other chili plants as tribute

That now makes all 5 remaining chili peppers at various stages of ripening. There's a bunch of new growth on it as well, albeit no new fruit as of yet. On the off-chance that this plant is a Trinidad Moruga Scorpion, and given the yellow fruits it produces, I've named it Hanzo Hisashi

Not entirely sure what kind of plant this is. A few years ago I bought a whole assortment of different hot pepper seeds and most of them didn't germinate 😥. It appears that this might be one of the Carolina Reapers that didn't take before 🤞
