Roberto De Zerbi targets ‘Ange-ball’ revival to save Spurs from relegation
The new head coach said he wants to replicate Tottenham’s former manager’s style, insisting: ‘I want to see the Spurs I watched with Postecoglou’

Since winning the World Cup in 2006, Italy have been knocked out in the group twice (2010, 2014) and failed to qualify three times (2018, 2022, 2026). Their last knockout round appearance was the final in '06.

Not Kinsky's fault. He wasn't ready and the manager put him in. A horrific error of judgement. Time to go Tudor.

Salah jets off to Afcon in about 10 days. Moves to Saudi in January. Never plays for Liverpool again. Just like that.

The problem with our thin squad is we're going to be coming up short all season. Every time we need just 5 minutes, just one last push, just this or that... we'll dig deep but there'll be nothing there. Always just out of reach. It's going to be a long season.

My take for the coming Prem season is that 'social mobility' among clubs is at an all time low. Everyone will finish exactly where they finished last season and the 3 promoted clubs will go down.

I have used my computer wizardry to create this graphic of the 4 groups from Euro 25. They have remarkable geographical similarities, loosely: A is Arctic B is Mediterranean C is Baltic/Prussian D is Western European

The big story of the day is, of course, that Timo Werner has somehow added another European trophy to his haul. Spurs legend.

Disappointed to hear that some people have been hurt after a pitch invasion in Hamburg. Pitch invasions have become alarmingly common, occuring after every promotion, title, or last gasp escape. Federations aren't taking this seriously enough. We're running the risk of a disaster.

So obviously all the CL spots will go to "big 7" clubs. Because why wouldn't they. How dull and predictable.

This season's strong EPL mid table serves to exacerbate inequality rather than end it. Yes, the big 6 reign of terror has finally come to an end, but the Prem is now full of massive spenders and promoted sides don't have a hope in hell.

So, losing to Spurs is a sackable offence for a Southampton manager then.

Missed the second instalment of City v Chelsea after a fuck up from our broadband/tv provider. just found out today's game is on BBC1, so if not for that I'd have been able to watch all 4. devastated.

You can really tell that Liverpool played 120 mins on Tuesday. Between the amount of minutes they've played this year and their acute struggles with injuries and fixture congestion these last few weeks, they've arrived at Wembley with less form, less sharpness and less preparation than Newcastle.

Just me or was Sarr clearly offside for Spurs' second last night? Oh well.

TNT commentator says winner of Spurs-AZ will play Ajax or Frankfurt, seemingly not realising that this tie has already taken place and Ajax were eliminated earlier this evening. Do your homework mate.

Souness, Keane, Neville and now Rooney. Four men who tried and failed at football management and now make a living saying bad things about Man Utd on TV.

I think we've reached a tipping point when it comes to the Prem/Championship gap. The three promoted teams are going down, and if Wolves pull away it won't even be close. Same will happen next season. The lower half prem teams are simply too strong. It's a big problem.

I'm not sure what Man U would expect Mainoo or Garnacho to fetch. For me, Mainoo lacks the physical attributes to be elite and Garnacho doesn't produce enough G/A. I think £40m for either would be doing pretty well.

Eustace to Derby makes me think of Amorim to Man U. "Long term project". If you take over a club in jeopardy mid season then things can spiral out of control before you have time to implement ideas. Momentum & narrative lost and the blame falls at your feet, fault or not.

Cameron @cameronsameron.bsky.social · 11/02/2025
Ederson looks devoid of confidence. No sharpness, hesitating and making bad decisions. You can arguably see these characteristics in all of the goals tonight, plus the very clumsy offside penalty.

Cameron @cameronsameron.bsky.social · 09/02/2025
Bergvall and Bentancur are not combining well. Gaping holes in midfield. An adjustment needs to be made ASAP.

UEFA are 100% changing the squad reg rules for next season, for better or worse. I understand why they're here but this is just silly and doesn't represent the new reality where top clubs need enormous squads.

Cameron @cameronsameron.bsky.social · 02/02/2025
Amorim knew better than to take the Man Utd job midseason. And then he did it anyway.

Archie Gray has a horrid habit of playing bobbling passes to his defensive colleagues. Great player but has to iron that out.
